Had a nice conversation with our new receptionist at work. She is in her early 20s. She stated how she loves my tail and thinks my hair is beautiful. That she loves long hair on guys. Hopes more men grow their hair. She asked if it were ever more common. I told her, that in the late 60s and through the 70s. It was more common than today. (What must seem like the neolythic to her) That even businessmen had "longer" cuts. She said she and many of her friends are wanting their boyfriends to grow their hair out. So maybe, just maybe, there is hope.
Sounds like a revolution is about to start. Hopefully this means there will be more respect to the longhair community.
I think long hair on men and its acceptance by women is increasing among young people (like your receptionist). I am seeing more and more guys at my university with long hair, even among those who dress and act completely mainstream. And the people who have given me grief about my hair have all been older than 50. So within another generation, the stigma may lessen quite a bit.
