I have been growing my hair out for about 5 years. My hair is very dry and wavy. I get split ends pretty much every day so i grab scissors and cut them off. Since this is every week it feels as if my hair is not growing. I'm thinking of just leaving the split ends in and growing it out like that.
By the way I read that split ends are caused by dry hair. I tried so many things to treat dry hair but it seems nothing works for me. I don't think there is anything I can put on that will fix it. It seems to be one of those internal issues. I'm probably lacking vitamins. Once I went on a master cleanse diet and drank a whole bunch of water and noticed my hair looked oily not dry. I will try and just drink a whole lot of water to see if that helps.
Anyone else here have the same problem?

My hair is oily, which is the opposite. Because it is over 3 feet long, the oil does not reach the ends. I use coconut oil on my ends. This may work for you to reduce the splitting and dryness. Give it a try.

agreed ... coconut oil is amazing ... the longer you leave it in, the better, as your hair will absorb it = then wash & condition as normal ... go for it - you wont look back ... cheers CEM. :O)
Yup. I agree too. I use jojoba oil after every wash - applied to damp hair. I use coconut oil occasionally too.
I have curly hair... it is very important not to pull your hair. Use conitioner to get out of the shower, and then a little oilbased stuff on the ends to come it out.
I ocasionlly get my hair roller set when I want it to be smoothe and formal.
Many men find this difficult to request, but most stylist have no difficulty with it.
This last thurday a womean in the salon could not take her eyes off my set -- i wish i had had the opp to talk to her. M y guess is that she wnted her men to be there.
