Great to be back! After about 3 years of short/medium hair, I've decided to give it a try AGAIN. There are a few problems I've run into since my journey to longhair.
First, I try the best I can to go with the flow as far as my spouse is concerned. She just has problems with my hair thing. I've got a long face to start with; she says that long hair makes my face look even longer than it is. Second, long hair makes me look old. I am blessed with great hair and she says so. Guess I'm just not wearing it right. It used to be real interesting to go to church in the days when my hair was on my shoulders or a little past. The older ladies really liked it but my younger lady friends didn't think much of it.
Anyway, I guess I'm looking for some styling/length tips. I'm in a Scottish group and have attached a pic to this message. I'm the tall guy, far left end(fifth step) with a tuba. Any help would be appreciated.
Your hair looks fine, man. Take ANY negative comments about your long hair from anyone but another longhaired man with a HUGE grain of salt.
Bill
Thanks Bill...I will.
Hi MikeM, good to have you back! your hair looks fabulous in that shot, my only advice would be do not cut - grow it longer. It suits you and the Scottish band well!
Thanks Ian! I think I will give it another shot. Maybe layered this time. It used to get really poofy when I first grew it long.
Mike your hair looks fantastic,in that pic, and I see no reason to ever cut it short.People will always have their opinions on other people but it would be nice if they kept the negative ones to themselves.I see no problem with the way your hair looks in that picture or how it would make your face look long.Maybe the problem is the naysayers need glasses but no one ever had the nerve to tell them they are blind as bats!LOL.Trust me you look great:)Cheers

Thanks Hairball. That was the first time I had ever let it grow out. It is sorta poofy in the pic. Maybe I could get my hairdresser to layer it. That might help with the poofiness.
Your hair looks very presentable, and perhaps you could tie it back for outdoors if necessary. Bear in mind layering might mean you couldn't tie it all back,
Regards, Andy
I think your longhair looks awesome the way it is :) When I first looked at your photo and spotted you I thought wow that guy looks like he could be a really cool professor!
Thanks Zach!
You could always shoot back "would I look younger with male pattern baldness?"
Never thought about that! I'll give it a try...
I assume the Scottish style of clothes amount to fancy dress/costume - the instruments are entirely un-Scottish.
The hir looks good though.
Thanks...we are one of the few brass bands that play with pipes. Got an awesome director that writes and arranges the music.
