Just got back from a great day driving down the CA coast to meet up with mlhh member Bill Choisser and his partner Larry.Had lunch in Pescadero at the famous Duarte's restaurant and then did some local sightseeing on foot and by car.Oh those curvy roads!LOL.Later on driving our way back up the coast we stopped in Half Moon Bay for dinner. It's great getting to do a face to face with guys we normally only see online.I'm fortunate to have met a good number of members here over the years making this board more than just an online social network for me.I have to say I've enjoyed everyone I've met to date.Earlier in the day I stopped at the Pigeon Point Light Station for this self portrait. Not the greatest shot of me acceptable I guess.Cheers

Photo taken at Duarte's is above. Had a great time, Mark!

Walking around Pescadero, Bill and Mark.

Hi Bill,
Larry just sent me these photos and I was going to post them but
you beat me to it! Lol.Thanks for spending the day with me as always
enjoy your company:) Looking forward to future meet ups.Cheers
Mârk
Love the shirts guys! Thanks for sharing your lovely day.
peace,
rowie
Ha ha, seems like our shirts were the hit of the day:)Hopefully the stripes
didn't make me look fat!lol. Oh well off to the today's activities.Cheers
Mârk
Cool it, Mark! NOBODY out-vains me!!! :)
Damon
---------------------------------------
I think we are in the same league Damon but that picture embarrasses me.Yikes!lol. If I really looked like that I'd have to jump off Devil's Slide!
Mârk
If you really looked like you do in Bill's distortion, you'd more likely ROLL off! :)
No worries though. You have a high metabolism like me. I eat tons of fattening food and never gain a gram. Some women in my office hate me for that!
If I mention that I need to watch what I eat or that I need to walk it off, people look at me as if I'm mad. Well yeah, okay I'm skinny - but I want to STAY that way!
Damon
--------------------------------------
Thankfully at my age I still seem to have that same fast metabolism.Hopefully that doesn't ever change abruptly but for now all is good:) Oh well pass the olliliberry pie and let's take a walk;) Lol
Mârk
Yeah, Mark, the stripes made you look fat.
Bill
------------------
OMG Bill did I eat that much olliliberry pie at Duarte's!Yikes good thing
I wore my stretch jeans;)
Mârk
Great pictures of you and Bill, Mark! The henna color really works in your favor! :) California is awesome, as I have been there a few times myself! :D
Hi Mark,
Since you've been out west you know what a special place this is:)I
like how the henna red shows up in the sunlight when outdoors. I'm really
enjoying the redhead thing and want to keep it going:) Cheers my friend.

Sorry I could not make that trip to meet up. I was not up to it.
You look great in that photo. It is one of the best portraits of you that I have seen.
Scott
Hi Scott,
Yes I missed you not joining us for the afternoon down the coast. It was nice
chatting with Bill and Larry at lunch and taking a tour of the area.Larry sure liked
taking pictures of the flowers in bloom:)Anyway I'm sure we'll meet at some point
if not this trip then my next in the fall.Otherwise hope you are doing better today:)
Cheers
Mârk
Mark,
Great smile and your hair is looking radient! Looks like you had a great time. The black and red stripes suit you to a "tee", much more than the rainbow polka-dots. Happy May Day!
peace, jonalbear
Hi JB,
Thank you for the kind words as I'm fortunate any picture of myself
comes out looking half decent.By far I am no fashion model but I'm glad
you liked my shirt.I could have worn the polka dot shirt but that might have
taken the spotlight off of Bill's colorful tie dye!lol.Still thank you for you nice
comments my friend:) Cheers
Mârk
Hi Mârk,
Man I miss all these places! Fantastic picture of you though! Looking good and I like your own sense of style. Maybe if I go back to visit we could all go to Santa Cruz or even Monterey, heck I especially miss the majestic redwoods! Well I'm glad you guys had a fun trip. Thanks for sharing!
cheers,
Rowie
Hi rowie,
It would have been cool if you were still out here so II could have added
you to my list of in person mlhh member meet ups:)Have to admit I've enjoyed
the company of everyone I have met so far over the years.Maybe someday we can meet on the east coast sometime.I'd again like to thank you for your participation here on the board and hope you stick around for the long haul my friend:)Cheers
Mârk
Nice! Great photos of you and Bill.

Thanks Oren as someday it would be cool to add you to my meet up list:)
Mârk
Glad you are having a good time, but I must admit to being very jealous. Sorry I could not make it this year...
Walter
P.S. That is a great "wind-in-the-hair" photo !!

Hi Walter,
Yes, it would have been great to see you again but thankfully I'll be back soon so we will have the opportunity:) I did like how that natural hairstyling came out;)lol. Cheers my friend.

Hey Mark
Great photos(s) and I am so happy for you that once again you are in that beautiful area......and, LUCKY: "Duarts." That was such a neat place to go and the last time I was there was just about this time of year back in '98 when my friend Steven Lundberg was still living and blowing glass in Santa Cruz. Paperweights ended up his speciality, but he also made Favrile Glass that rivaled anything that Tiffany ever made in the early 1900's. Alas, Pescadero was the furthest north I drove and so I never did get to see SF which I should have. Oh well, just too interested and busy helping Steven I guess and coming up with some ideas and formulas that he actually used.
All the best Mark-
Justin~
ps: It doesn't look as if Pescedaro has change one single bit since the last time I was there. Good! :-)
---------------------------
Hi Justin,
Well I can safely say Pescadero hasn't changed since I first saw it either which is refreshing:)I'm thinking of ventureing down to Santa Cruz today as it is a cool town.I was in SF yesterday and will be back tomorrow to see Ken:)Oh the week goes too quickly.Be well my friend:)Cheers
Mârk
Hi Mark
Bet that town looked about the same back in the 50's as well. It was the closest as to what I remember from the 50's. All "Norms" Market needed to be complete would be the wood chips they used to put on the floors back in those days, at least where I was in New England before the big and more impersonal Supermarkets got their start.
It doesn't look like much, but Steven Lundbergs Studio was on Mission Street. Hope you get to see the Warf. Boggles my mind (what is left of it) how in the world they could build a bunch of stores and Gift Shops like that so far out into the Ocean. Before (about 1/2 way) to Santa Cruz and high up above the Ocean is a small town Called "Davenport." This is where all of the Glass-Blowing began back in the earliest 70's when Steven Brother began the business. It may still be in business today but operated by someone else.
Have a fun and safe trip Mark! :-)
Justin~
ps: This time of year, there may still be Pumpkins growing in areas right next to the Ocean. Who would have ever thought that a Pumpkin liked Salt Air! LOL :-)
Hi Mark,
First of all, my apologies for the late reply, just not on the computer as much lately. This is an excellent photo of you, and I am delghted that you are having such a great time on the West Coast of the USA, and that you had the chance to meet Larry and Bill. Have a safe and happy trip!
Take care,
David

Hi David,
No worries about not being the first to reply as you did it eventually which is fine. The weather has been great out west and I'm managing to get a lot of things in:)Sadly all good things must come to an end but once it's over I guess just plan the follow up trip;)Cheers
