Thanks for all the great feedback, I will be looking into a wide wooden comb, and I sleep with just a loose ponytail, I will try the segmented tail to see how that all works for the knots.
Here is a picture of when I last cut my hair, I also trimmed my beard for the first time in 2 years with a flat bottom which it sucked to lose length but it was all uneven cause one side is more powerfull than the other, now it looks clean.

Your hair and beard are outstanding, MegaCheezle. A segmented tail is a very good idea. It will greatly reduce knots in your hair. God knows, I hate knots.
The probable reason for uneven beard growth is due to sleeping with mostly one side of your head on the pillow. Pressure on that side will reduce circulation a little. For hair to grow at its best, you need a good blood supply. Take a good look at my post 291964 and you can easily tell which side I mostly sleep on.

Gotta say that's a hell of an improvement in three years! HAd I waited another year or so my hair would've been about the same length. Very nordic beard as well. Perhaps you would like to share any other secrets regarding your healthy long hair?
