Thanks for the responses everyone gave below.
now, I have two more questions for you gentlemen:
first, since you all like your hair long and I'm totally diggin` it what I would like to know is what is your preference for us women, long, medium, or short hair?
second, among the opposite sex, who has been the most supportive of you growing your hair long, women with long, medium or short hair?
Long.
Some short, some long.
-Hello Ashley! I love women with very long hair! I think it's very sexy! The idea of making love with both partner having long hair would be "hot" because it would be like the hairs would mix in and also make love. What is your preference? Do you like men with long hair?
-All women I know with short all the way to very long hair are very supportive to my decision to grow long hair compared to my male friends.
Many women in Italy have the latest fashions, wearing well made leather shoes, purses, and coats along the Via Mazzini in downtown Verona. This compares to the north coast of California, where worn out jeans are the norm. Thanks Audrey for you post here. I generally follow orders from the opposite sex on this.
I date women with all types of hair styles and lengths. Most women that I date have shorter hair than me. My hair is lower back length. Most women never had an issue with my hair. I dated one woman who mention it in the beginning. I told her I wasn't planning on cutting it. She had mid-back length hair. It turned out she had insecurity issues with herself.

Thanks.. I prefer long hair on women lol.. And for me its kinda been mixed. I've been growing mine for 19 months or so and were I live I've never really had a negative comment from men or women. But I must say I've had more (negative) vibes so to speak from men than women. But I definalty prefer women with long hair ;)
For women, my overwhelming preference is for long hair, the longer the better.
For the second half, I haven't noticed any particular pattern to whether those that support my having the hair I want are long or short haired themselves, male or female.
And because I missed replying to your earlier question before it slid well down the page, I mostly listen to 70's classic rock and modern jazz, as well as some classical.

Hi Ashley,
I generally prefer women with longer hair, and think that most men and women look better that way. However I have also seen people who looked well suited to short hair too. Some people keep their hair short for practical reasons rather then merely conforming. Work in dangerous environments like mechanical workshops/factories and jobs where long hair can be a hassle or working underground in hot humid mines. Often people in security will keep their hair short as a protection measure if caught in a fight with drunks. Chefs in kitchens usually wear their hair short too. (went a bit off-topic here)
My biggest hair critics are overwhelmingly men, (often balding or migrants from the socially repressive Middle East) and I do not recall ever hearing any bad comment about my hair from women. My best encouragement, compliments and moral support have come from the ladies.
cheers,
Duncan
Let me preface this by saying I am not attracted to either women or men, but I do nevertheless have standards of what I consider beautiful for each gender. I am much less picky about hair on women because most of them have beautiful, soft-featured faces that look good regardless of the length or style of the hair surrounding them. I have a slight preference for long hair on women, but really I think a beautiful face is much more important for them. Men, on the other hand, are more likely to have harsh-featured faces that need to be softened by a head of beautiful hair, which is why I rarely think a man is good-looking unless his hair is at least past the jaw line.
This is hard to answer because so rarely do women realise I am a long-haired guy due to my androgynous face and alternative taste in clothes. The only place in my hometown where I am recognised as male by a majority of onlookers is at discos which cater to a mostly gay crowd. My experience there is that a lot of women, regardless of the length of their hair, seem disgusted or even offended by my appearance, sometimes stating that a guy should never look so feminine, or demanding to know what gender I am and then calling me a liar when they refuse to believe my answer. Ive never received negative reactions from any of the men, and in fact have had many of them fawn over my hair and remark how beautiful I am. I have also received from several of these men admiration for my courage to wear long hair and non-mainstream clothes, and have had a few tell me they wish they had the nerve to do the same.
At first glance, sure, long well kept hair. However, different lengths look good on different people, from bald to extreme lengths. Of course, for me, external appearance pales besides the person inside...good or bad.
Women are generally more vocal about compliments, and the majority of my very few negative comments are from overweight, older, unhappy, short-haired men (although I have gotten some very nice compliments from guys you would expect to be most negative!). As to the compliments from women, there is more a spectrum ranging from admiration from shorter haired women to support and camaraderie from longer haired women.
I prefer long hair on women, but it's not crucial.
