There will be more to join you within the coming months/years and it won't be because long hair on Men will become "trendy".
it will be a reflection of a strong dissatisfaction with the current system and a strong disdain for those at the top who have been benefiting the most while the rest of you are left out in the cold!
many unemployed college grads who believed in the system who have been looking for employment for years will finally give up in frustration because they will have realized that they bought into a "lie" that if you go to college you will find a lucrative paying job!
during the 1960s Men grew their hair long, not because it was "stylish", but because they were fed up with the way the system was.
you see the seeds starting to sprout with the current occupy movement, but the seeds will spread and grow and other movements will spring up.
there is general discontent in the air , but unlike the 1960s this is more based on economics than a senseless war in Southeast Asia and it will not just include the young, but older people as well as this movement will become multi-generational.
by cutting your hair short now you are stating you are in compliance with the current top-down system and think you will
benefit from it.
by growing your hair long you are stating that you are in opposition to what is going on and you are not alone!
the closely cropped Men you see now will not remain that way just like many of those who joined the 1960s counterculture had crewcut`s in the early 1960s, but had long hair and beards a few years later.
there will be a back-to-basics mindset and a boycott of anything representing corporate "interests". no one will care about people like Kim Kardashian or any other reality TV "celebrity".
no one will watch "Survivor" because the real survivors will be YOU!
many people will finally come to the realization that it is all mindless entertainment which it is.
there will be much stronger support for struggling musicians/bands and the independent spirit will prevail over the bogus trash the corporate music media has been shoving down our throats for years!
by independent, I am not referring to the pseudo-"indie" music distributed by the corporate machine, but real independent music put out by the bands themselves or a label started up by musicians who actually LOVE music and are not interested in the
"profit motive" and don't care about what advertisers the music attracts , but care about the actual fans!!
the styles may differ, but in general the music produced by independent recording artists will reflect the attitudes toward the top-down system and how corrupt it is.
many will consider farming and traditional trades over jobs which require four year degrees since they have become meaningless now.
the low-paying clerk or janitor will get more respect than a high-paid CEO of a corporation from the majority because they will have come to the realization that the person at the bottom is more honest than the scum at the top!
the new reality will be what is going to happen and whether the media wants to continue on with this facade or support the movements as they occur time will tell.
the corporate machine is starting to crumble and the people are tired of it!
it is time for a change!
I wish you all luck with your hair and hope all is well with you!
~peace~
My hair is already long enough to be considered long as far as society is concerned, and as an experienced long hair, the awkward stage doesn't not really faze me.
Don't concern yourself with "society". They are all clones of one another. You on the other hand, seem to come across as a free thinker which is something that seems quite rare these days.
check out the tune which I have posted a link to.
The Third Bardo - I'm Five Years Ahead Of My Time
You are right - the population, especially those who have been conned into believing in the current system, is very dissatisfied, and quite rightly so.
We still have two pointless wars, where US and UK soldiers are being killed in the name of protecting their country but, in truth, serving the egos of the person in power in the White House and 10 Downing Street at the time. Other countries are and were involved, too, but the US and the UK are the worst offenders.
At the same time as cynically sacrificing our sons and daughters, those at the top are finding ever more outrageous ways of creaming off more than their share.
The best way to resist is not to be like them. Be loyal, be honest, and keep telling them that they are wrong. Growing our hair so as not to look like Mr Corporate is a good way of standing out from the fish swimming with the flow (and ultimately into the net).
I was given some good advice by a friend in the 60s. Remember, the man in the suit expects you to pay for his suit.
Happy growing.
