so..this is me today after having my head shaved in december and having a further cut (grade 2 sides and back) in mid-January
it seems to be taking an age to grow!.....but I guess ijust need a little patience and a lot of faith!!
Your comments gratefully welcome!
No more salons!...ever!!

As you rightly say, patience.

Lookin' good there, Scott -- you have a wonderful head of hair to work with!!!
Just my opinion, but I'll share it for what it's worth:
I recommend avoiding saying the word, "never" -- because as Murphy's Law would have it... (fill in the blank as you see fits - LOL)!
Also, for me when I was first growing my own hair out for the 1st time, I took things slowly -- I had no MLHH to go to for advise (in fact, I didn't even own a computer back then), including the fact that i DID occasionally go to a salon for little "touch-ups", re-shapings, minor trimming of the ends, etc.... Although nowadays I DON'T do that, I'd be lying if I was to say you "shouldn't" at all ever go to one.
The trick is to NOT BUZZ if you get to a frustration point in your growing journey; but instead, if you have to do something when you can no longer stand to look at yourself in the mirror during the awkward stages, then go ahead and TRIM OFF ONLY A MODEST AMOUNT OF HAIR LENGTH.
True, you'll get to your end goal of having looooong hair sooner if you never ever cut again; but sometimes a modest goal at first will eventually bring out the best success in the end, rather than trying to bite off more than we can humanly really chew (said while accidentally chewing on some of my own hair while typing this - LOL)....
I hope my comments have helped!

Love the new avatar dude....very creative!!
Lookin' good there, Scott -- you have a wonderful head of hair to work with!!!
your hair looks great! yeah it's still short especially compared to some people on this site, but at least now you have a head of hair as opposed to just stubble. Your color is great and you have great coverage, so with time it will look great! I'm at 10 months and I already classify myself as a borderline longhair, so 6 more months for you and you will be there too. keep it growing! don't give in. You have gretat hair to work with.
cheers dude...starting to love the colour of my hair..it has blonde, light brown and even a little grey in it!
Well done on 10 months..i reckon that's the point where we go from medium to the start of long hair!......bring it on!!
That's really taking shape again Scott. You do seem pretty determined this time and I wish you well. Just start thinking how much longer it will look in 6 months, then a year...Just keep away from those scissors if you can. Best wishes from Essex!
lol!....thanks Ian....one of my brothers lives in Braintree..it's a small world huh?
Keep going, Scott. You have a great head of beautiful hair. It would be criminal to cut it!

Ta Damon....not intending to cut it anymore.
Hair is not growing slowly. This is a normal rate of growth. With growth of about 1/2 inch/month, you probably have 2 inches now. At that rate, you will have shoulder length hair in about 12 to 18 months, mid-back in about 24 - 30 months, waist in about 48 months, and if you have really good genes, knee length in about 96 months or 8 years.
cheers bud!....another 92 months to go!!
Hi Scott from nottingham:)
I think you hair is making a fantastic return to glory since your big cut:)Sometimes guys just have to go through these things to realize where they want to be hair wise.I'm glad you enjoying the new journey as you'll be back to being a full blown longhair before you know it.And yes, skip the salons!Cheers my friend:)

Hello Scott: Your hair is looking great, the longer it gets the better you and your hair will look. Long hair on you compliments your good looks. Take care and happy growing.
Tom(Hairboy)
cheers Tom....all the more reason for me to keep it growing..thanks for your kind words
Hi Scott,
It looks like you are moving along quite well. Soon you'll be in that phase of having fun with wearing all sorts of hats and bandannas. You definitely have hair color to die for! Keep on growing, and now I get to use the advice you gave me- "have fun."
cheers,
rowie
