The story speaks for itself.
Mitt Romney Cut off a longhair's hair
One thing I would add is dressage = horse dancing. We learned that thanks to his wife.
I find it troubling that he 1. did this and 2. "doesn't remember it."
How do you forget something like that?
His five classmates certainly remember it.
Of course he is lying. This is a surprise?
You know...he's probably OK with this being public...it will appeal to his core supporters...and not lose him any more votes than he already has. Similar to President Obama's public stance on gay marriage.
This story you have provide to our long haired readers just cements in my mind that Mitt Romney is not fit to be president of the United States, when he would cut the hair of another high school classmate, just because it didn't fit in what Romney concidered manly, actually Mr. Romney committed a crime that he was not punished for but many people will remember.
Tom(Hairboy)
makes me fucking sick.
Just another reason to not vote for this repugnant man.
He was just bringing democracy to him. Republican style. After all, that's the very definition of democracy: 3 wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner, or 4 shorts and a long deciding on hairstyles.
We now resume our regularly scheduled lurking.
At least we know what it takes to get you out of lurking;)LOL.Great hearing from you again Steve.Cheers

Good to see you Steve...hope you drop by more often.....

Whaddyalookinherefor?
It certainly does Bill and the fact that he can't remember the incident is not believable.I can't imagine what was going through the mind of that longhaired guy during such brutality. He was likely too kind to do it but this could have been grounds for a "Florida style" stand your ground defense. He had a weapon, scissors, and those could have been used for more than a haircut.

To make matters worse apparently when he was in college
at Stanford he cornered some freshmen, shaved their
heads and covered them in red paint.

Romney likes to cut hair
Well, there goes the long haired vote! I doubt if any of us would have voted for him to begin with, though. Ditto for the gay vote.
Sadly, it lines up with what we already know about him. I don't give a cr*p how much money he has, but the way he made it is offensive. Corporate raiding is both immoral and non-productive. Legal, yes, highly profitable even, but not something any decent person does to make a living. Trust me, Wall Street types despise those guys.
And know we find out he bullied others both in high school and in college. Gay bashing and forced haircuts. If one of them were my son, he'd have a lot more than his hair to worry about.
His policies were at the moderate end of the GOP, at least until he went crazy for the primaries, but he has no morals whatsoever.
OK, that's it. I have never become a US citizen, even though I have been here so long that I would be exempt from taking the citizenship test. This is because I don't believe in renouncing my UK citizenship, even though it doesn't actually count. Despite that, one local politician suggested that if I couldn't vote I could still help by canvassing. He was right, and I think I may well volunteer. We can't have someone like this elected president. He has to be stopped.
It just makes me so angry that a person like him can get to even be considered for President. And that people support him.
I'll be pretty upset if this bully gets elected, that's for sure.
-----------------------------------
How does a guy like this even qualify for candidacy for President? Past behavior is a good indicator of future behavior. He possibly practices political bullying now, rather than physical bullying, now that he is grown up. The more dirt dug up on him before November, the better. This guy has to be defeated in November.

I don't like either of the main candidates but I agree that Romney is the worst of the two.
Personally, I'm voting for Ron Paul, one who espouses the value of personal liberty more than any other. That's something longhairs appreciate!
They showed a picture of the kid in question. His hair
was very short by todays standards.
He just had a long fringe (bangs as you call it here in the colonies), and that was what Romney cut off. He also had his hair dyed blond, and was gay. So not only forced hair cutting but also a hate crime.
It was a hate crime whether the victim was gay or not:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/hate+crime defines "hate crime" as "a crime, usually violent, motivated by prejudice or intolerance toward a member of a gender, racial, religious, or social group." Longhairs are a social group.
Criminal statutes may limit the definition to a subset of the groups forming the general definition, but no statute making hate crimes a criminal offense existed when the Romney haircutting event occurred. Such acts nevertheless met the definition of the phrase "hate crime" as it's now defined.
There have been centuries-old crimes of battery and mayhem, and these would have applied. Battery is "an unlawful attack upon another person by beating or wounding, or by touching in an offensive manner", while mayhem is the same but including disfiguring, crippling, or mutilating the victim. Mayhem is generally a felony. Battery may or may not be.
Mutilation speaks to the severity or long or permanent duration of the injury, and it could be argued that damage to hair that would take several years to regrow would cross that line.
Of course, whether the acts were crimes at all or not is now irrelevant because statutes of limitations have long ago run. However, in judgment of the man's character, the act itself, not whether it could now be charged as a crime, is what is relevant. In determining his fitness to hold public office, voters will be judging his character.
Bill
We all did stupid things in high school. The fact that he says he forgot what he did is unbelievable. Everyone of his co-conspiraters felt bad and apologized for it, but Romney can't even own up to his crime. At least Bush admitted he was an alcoholic in the past, and Obama admitted to past drug use, and even clinton admitted to smoking, but not inhaling. Those that can't own up to past offenses and apologize for them, are not worthy of your respect, much less the most powerful position in the world with the nuclear codes.
Well, the time has passed for an apology in words. Actions speak louder than words, and when the opportunity to speak with actions has availed itself, words will not suffice.
An apology with actions would be for a reasonably acceptable number to be given in answer to these questions:
1. Since attaining government office, how many longhaired men has he had on his staff or appointed to positions?
2. Same question for "out gay men". (Note, I did not say in question #1 "out" longhairs. He may say he didn't know the sexual orientation of people, but all longhairs are "out". There is no closet for longhairs.)
Bill
There is no closet for longhairs.)
Except under turbans and beanies.

And if you read the whole thing, he not only cut off the fringe (bangs) of a first gay student, John Lauber, but also taunted another gay student, Gary Hummel, by shouting 'atta girl' every time he stood up to answer a question in class.
And if that weren't enough, there is another article that says he shaved the heads of two students when he was in college, and then painted them red. No word if they were gay or had long hair. They were probably frat pledges I suppose. It does show he didn't stop when he graduated high school.
This is just another reason why I stay out of big-party politics.
The party I vote for only has 1 seat in my countries government & even that is probibly just temporary.
