Hello I am starting to grow my hair longer to shoulder length as my goal right now. Now it's during its awkward stage where it doesn't move like and gets puffed out everywhere since its not weighing down and it gets messy and everything. I have seen message boards to tie in ponytail but unfortunetly I cannot do that at this time. My question that i was wondering is how to keep hair neat looking during this stage without getting it trimmed from the salon until it gets to my goal length? Lastly if anyone can help me with this is I have anxiety and how to deal with it with longer hair? I am serious about growing it longer but i get thoughts if I have it i will get negative comments and other reactions that is negative. I know I shouldn't worry what others think and I should do it for myself but its hard not to avoid it. Has anyone felt this when growing out hair for first time and what are positive ways to deal with these thoughts?
Unfortunately, with peoples' attitudes the way they are a lot of times, you have to just buck up and do it for yourself, like you said. You're GOING to get stupid comments (and probably worse) from people who think they have the license to say what they want about anything and everybody. But, in the end, are their comments important enough to cause you to give up what you want? Those particular people don't care if you cut your hair or not. And you can guarantee that the same ones would be griping about something else if your hair wasn't the "topic of the week" for them. Just ignore them and consider the source. Their drama isn't worth your time.
