Finally, I feel like I can take my braiding skills to the next level. I was happy to enjoy this style the whole day when I went shopping with my friends today. I spent two FREAKING hours just to do the double French braid. My arms are still kinda sore from this morning and all other fun activities with my friends, but it was worth it since I got lots of friendly smiles both from men and lots of women (a big plus)! Well I thought I'd share this for the braiders (or lover of braids) out there. Next style I'll be working on perfecting is the double dutch braid. Until next time! Please enjoy!
cheers,
rowie
Starting from the top front all the way to the back:
the braids look great. the effort you put into the braiding was well worth it. the nice thing about long hair is that you can do so many things with it, especially with great hair like yours.
Thanks! Yeah I have uncontrollable type hair and so I've resorted to taming methods like braiding and bunning.

Hi rowie,
Have to say that's dedication my friend!LOL. Wow,two hours working on a braid is amazing.I can safely say that followup braids, such as this one, will eventually be completed much faster.I'm so ashamed that all I've done was that simple bun I posted a few days ago.LOL.That took me all of 15 seconds to do but it is effective.Just need to work on anchoring the very end of my hair as a few times the bun did unravel.Oppps;)lol.Also my other hair sticks arrived over last weekend which are wooden and resemble chopsticks. The first one I received was some type of plastic.Anyway great job rowie as I wish I could have been amongst you and your friends sporting our stylish hairdos;)He he. Must have been a fun outing making the time to do that braid well worth it.Have an awesome day rowie:)Love reading your posts!Cheers

Hi Mârk,
Thanks so much! I'm glad a few of you enjoyed the fruit of my labor. LOL No i'm the silly one for posting a bunch of hairstyle type posts. I guess because I'm just trying to live out the MLHH I used to remember back when I started going to this site. I miss everyone's fabulous hair updates and styles. If it were not you and Jason I probably would of given up on posting hair style updates. But I guess all those people are taking an MLHH sabbatical. Maybe I need one too since I feel kind of silly that when I post hairstyle updates not many people respond with some kind of feedback. I do love your feedbacks, and I'll just have to trust your advise that it will get faster to do french braids in due time.
Yes, I wish you were close enough to join my circle of friends. We are just free spirited people, and we like to go out, and mostly eat out! LOL Hey, the more proteins you eat the better for the hair, right.... After all doesn't the saying go "We are what we eat." It would definitely be nice someday to meet you and your friends sometime if we happen to cross paths in New York.
Please don't give up on sticks. I can't tell you how much my ends feel so much better since i've been trying to keep my hair up most of the time. You have hair to die for and you have a lot of length to really explore updos. It's just a matter of playing around with it, finding your own niche (like you didn't know that already) and finding better ways to protect the ends of your hair. I'm sure you'll be able to reach your desired lengths just with simple routines of protecting your ends, and maybe treating yourself to nightly scalp massages with your hands.
OK my dear friend. I'll be keeping an eye out for your posts. I think i'll lay low for now until we start to again get more hair updates and styles. You have a lovely week sir!
always,
rowie
Hi rowie,
Awww, your posts are great and always fun to read:)And of course the pictures are always welcome because what better way to learn new hair styles than by looking at someones picture with them.Your french braid looks fantastic and I'm sure you felt it was worth the time to perfect it.I'm happy just to learn the simple bun as an alternative to ponytailing.
It's also nice to hear that some of us here at mlhh have inspired you to try longhair:)I've been here long enough to see many guys come and go and you do wonder if they kept their hair long or just cut it.Some do say goodbye if they are departing the board while others just disappear.
One of the things I've enjoyed about mlhh is the real life meet ups with some of the membership:)I've had the pleasure to meet a lot of guys from here. Some local and others from as far as California. If you ever do venture down to NYC by all means lets arrange to meet.Certainly there are many cool areas in the city.
Anyway thanks for your participation here and enjoy the ride my friend.Cheers

Those look gorgeous, Rowie. I can't imagine spending 2 hours doing this. My arms would fall off trying. I just do a segmented 1 meter long ponytail with rainbow hair elastics at roughly 10 centimeter intervals.
Scott
Thanks Scott! Ok if I ever go back home will you let me braid your hair then? I could do any style you like, and don't worry I'll be very gentle to your precious mane.LOL Actually, I had you in my mind, thinking it would be so nice to braid your lovely tress. I like your style, I just don't have a length to really pull it off like you do.
best,
rowie

Sure you can. I would love to have a visit from a fellow MLHH member. If you are planning a trip out west, a good time would be in late September. There is a huge longhair gathering. It usually happens on the last Saturday in September. It will likely be moved back one week this year, due to a major convention. (I think Oracle, but I am not sure.) 30 to 40 guys show up for this. Do check out this link. Stay tuned to get the date right. Mark (hairball) comes to this yearly.

If Rowie ever gets a chance to braid Scott's hair, I would love to see the pics.

He lives on the East coast, I think. If he ever visits the SF Bay area, he may get to braid my hair. I will post pics if this event happens.
