Since I've been very supportive of you guys growing yours long and I feel that it is wrong to discriminate against guys with longer hair in any job situation or anything else for that matter.
I've been seriously contemplating going for a serious Ultra chop like Emma Watson`s pixie cut.
I have an oval type face , btw.
now, I've never had my hair that short before and want to try it out. the shortest I've had it was in a chin length Bob.
Now I know some of you will try to talk me out of it, but I am prepared to do it just this one time.
lots of guys don't like women with short hair and most of them have short hair themselves. I am just wondering how the guys in the long hair community feel about it. are they more open-minded than their short hair counterparts?(I hope so!)
hey guys-believe it or not many of you look much better with long hair than many women that I know do. ;-)
anyway, how do most of you feel about girls with short crops. does it make you uncomfortable when you are around them?
have you ever dated a girl with hair that short?
My philosophy on this is it's your hair, you can and should wear
it the way you want whether that is long, short or somewhere in
between.
It's your hair, you should wear it the way you want to.
I personally do not like short hair on women, and I absolutely hate Emma Watson's new look. That's just my opinion based on my own personal taste. I don't think it has anything to do with my own long hair.
That said, it sounds like you want to cut your hair for the same reason most of us grew ours out the first time... curiosity. You seem to have already made up your mind, and I am not one to discourage anyone from doing that they want, so go for it. In the end, the only opinion you need to worry about is your own. If you don't like it, you can always grow it out again.
Just so you know, Emma already regrew her hair :)
*shrug* Wear your hair however you like! Just know that at velvet length people are going to rub it.
Ummm, sorry, trying to wrap my head around being made uncomfortable by the length of someone's hair...that would be a no, I think the only thing that makes me uncomfortable around people is the contents of their heads, not the outsides. OK, shaving swastikas into your hair makes me uncomfortable...but that is about it.
My first long term relationship was with a woman with very short hair while mine was below my shoulders. This was actually in the mid '70s, too. While I love long hair, I've really been that superficial in choosing the women I've date. Interesting/sexy/fun women come in all sorts of packages for me.
Back in the late '80s I grew out my hair after wearing it shorter for a few years and I experienced an odd thing. As my hair got longer, women with shorter hairstyles suddenly seemed sexier to me for some reason. These days, though, I pretty much love good hairstyles no matter what length.
A dreadful look to me, but anyone has the right to do so if they think it looks right for them.
Hi Ashley. Everyone has the right to choose for themselves about how they dress, what music they like, how to wear their hair, how live their lives! Therefore, you should be asking the question of yourself - do you want to cut it short for a change? you will still be "you" to others around you, and if their love and friendship are affected by the way you look or your choice of hairstyle that's their problem and not yours! Go for what you want.
Best regards, Ian
I really have no preference for hair length on women because I think a beautiful face is the most important feature in female beauty. That being said, it will be harder to hide flaws on your face without long hair to distract from them, so you may have to put more work into your facial care, makeup, etc.
As long as you truly want short hair and are not cutting it to fulfil some outside pressure, go for it. But I'd recommend waiting 2 weeks before you do it and making sure you don't have any second thoughts during the entire time. If you do, it could be a sign that you will regret the loss of your hair after it's gone.
As long as you respect the two-week rule to really think things over, and as long as you realize it'll take YEARS to get your long hair back, I say go for it! I'm all for messing up the stereotypes, which means more men with long hair and more girls with short hair :)
I know it will take awhile to grow back and it's not like I'm going to keep it ultra short indefinitely ,but it is something that I personally want to do.
unlike you guys, we girls are not pressured into wearing our hair short. if anything, we are pressured to wear it long.
there was something awhile back about some actress who was told by her producer not to cut her hair. don't recall which show , but this was after the infamous 'Felicity' incident.
I would like to see more long haired guys on T.V and less long haired girls and I will be cutting mine for similar reasons you guys want to grow yours, to be different from the herd.
Lycurgus, leader of the Spartans (about 850 B.C.) said long hair makes a good face even better looking. He rightly understood that long hair enhances a person's beauty. Dr. Loren Pickart of Skin Biology Inc. also relates how longer hair strengthens the scalp and downplays wrinkles and blemishes.
Long Hair makes a good face better looking!
Apparently, you want to try new stuff with your hair. Who makes the decision of cutting is yourself in the end, sou if you want to see how it looks, how it feels, go for it.
Sharing a coincidence with you now: Exactly today, I was on the bus, on my way to college. Some stops before mine, a girl with a very short buzzcut entered the bus. It looked great in her, when I saw it, I kept thinking about how it suited her. I am sure that she felt confident wearing her hair like that, and that is one of the secrets: Feeling confident. If you feel good about it, well, to the hell with what other people think! =)
I had long hair for 2 and a half years, and I cut it in January, not regretting it at all. I like to change my look every once in a while, and I tried long hair, loved it. The rest of the world didn't, however, but I enjoyed every step of the way, and cut it because I felt 100% like doing so, not because of other people.
So, if you're willing to give it a shot, go on, you can always grow it back again! I wish you godspeed on the transformation, if it is your desire. Make sure to tell us what you have decided afterwards =)
Big Hug.
PS: I wouldn't have any problem with dating a girl with short hair. Never did, but her hair is her option. If she is a nice person, then why not? It shows some confidence too, which is always nice.
I've actually never dated a girl with longer hair than me... Actually I've never dated a girl with hair anywhere near as long as mine. Obviously a lot more hours into whether or not someone is attractive (including personality! I've never understood how people can be attracted to someone based on looks alone) but I have a thing for short, choppy, punky hair on girls.
Long story short, go for it :) it's your hair, not anyone else's
