Do most people here start growing there hair from a shaved head? It seems to me, always wanting to be a long hair, that I would always cut my hair extremly short just so I dident have to think about it.
I don't know but I totally shaved my head for the first time three months ago. It was the first time I did it to the skin, and I regreted it. I often had buzzcuts in recent years. I must admit that I look very ugly with a buzzcut and it doesnt suit me well. Im sick of it and I let it grow now. Short hair sucks.
Yes I HAD to shave my head because when you want dreads out you have no choice but to buzz it. But I wanted to shave it bald and I did. I wanted to see if I had the right head shape for it to look good.
I can't speak for everyone, but I grew mine from a zero buzz cut. 18 months later I have a decent length pony tail and am much happier with it! :-)
I shaved my head in October of last year. So it's been about 8 months from zero.
I started to grow it last September from one of those stupid little flip ups, so basically it was almost from a shaved head. Something I'll never do again! Hurray for long hair!
I've been growing my hair from a #1 buzz cut for ~14 months and all is well :)
actually Just yesterday I got a little drunk a bit and i desided i would kinda buzz cutt under my hair in the back to get rid of the mullet like look and it really turned out nice, it looks way better when i put it up in a half pony tail and im thinking that it will be more even all the round when its to my shoulders, people have been asking me if i had it done by a barber because i actually did a good job, i first had to cutt it downa bit with scisors but even then since my hair is so thick the buzzer had a bit of trouble. im thinking on attempting my own undercut by putting my hair up[ in a half pony tail and shaving around it but i dont know if i will like a undercutt later on after the awkward stage
I started growing from hair that (parted in center) went to the top of my ear...and growing it out i got called mullet A LOT (and continue to do so)
shaved head -> long hair = not good territory
I've never had anything shorter than a short back and sides, but I created a convincimg computer pic of myself with a shaved head last year, it didn't look quite as bad as I thought it might! Still, my hair's almost resting on my shoulders now, there's no going back.
