So I'm on one of quitting smoking attempts, and it feels great. It took longer for me to kick the addiction to cigarettes, than it took for me to grow my hair. I know where I went wrong in the last few attempts, not staying away from Alcohol for the first couple of months.
Congrats on quitting. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as succeeding, at least not in terms of reaching a final goal. I quit smoking over 10 years ago, and I still consider myself in recovery. I avoid other smokers as much as possible, which is getting harder these days because of the new electronic cigarettes. Those things may not be producing smoke, but the water vapor they produce contains niccotine, which is the chemical smokers develop addictions to. I've had to fight with people at work to keep those things away from me.
