I'm sure you've seen it, and this site is Hilarious!
it's a site titled "The Art of Manliness" which includes
a segment titled:
"How to talk to a barber" lol
these guys seem to definitely be living in the 1950s/early 1960s Mad Men era because there is some strong infatuation with the
haircuts worn by the male characters on the Mad Men TV series.
and they call US throwbacks?
"If you really want to recapture that slicked back, clean look of the 40′s, 50′s, and 60′s, get your hands on some Brylcreem. The stuff is a little greasy, but boy it really makes a mans hair look nice. It smells pretty damn manly, too. Ive used Brylcreem to style my hair for awhile now. My wife loves the way it makes my hair look, and I get compliments on it all the time."
"The Don Draper"
"Tell your barber
Ask him to cut your hair tight and tapered on the sides and leave it long and full on the top. Tell the barber that you also want your part on the left side of your head. Yeah, I said part. The part demands respect. The part is powerful. Your barber can cut your hair in order to help your hair part more easily."
"The Pete Campbell"
"Tell your barber
Like with the Draper-do, youll want it nice and tight on the sides. The only difference is to have your barber cut it a bit shorter on the top than you would with the Don Draper hairstyle. And if you want to part it on the right, ala Pete, tell him that too."
"The Roger Sterling"
"Tell your barber
Sterlings look is much shorter and barbered than the other men on the show. Its almost like a military cut. Get it cut short on the top, but leave it long enough so that you can comb a part on the right side of your head. Sides are tight. Make sure he tapers the sides so they blend in nicely with the top. You wont want any lines like you have a bowl cut."
looking at all three of these I cannot really tell them apart , but maybe the author and his followers sees something that I don't.

and here is the propaganda:
"But that classic and masculine look would be ruined if Don Draper sported a dopey looking haircut. Do you think advertising clients and women would take Don Draper seriously if he combed his hair forward and spiked it up front like many young men do these days? I dont think so.
Don Draper and the other men at Sterling Cooper have haircuts that demand that you take them seriously. Your grandpa probably did his hair the same way: tight on the sides with a sharp part on the left side of the head. And of course, the hair needs that healthy looking shine."
on the page "Why Every Man Should Go To A Barber Shop"
there is also a misogynistic tone as well:
"A barber is trained to cut with clippers, the main tool in cutting a mans hair. Cosmetologists, on the other hand, are trained to use scissors. Their training is also geared towards catering to womens hair. They become experts in styling, coloring, and perming- things a man has no need for. Thats why when you ask the cute stylist at SuperCuts to use the number 2 on the clippers, you walk away with a bad haircut. Shes probably not well versed in how to use them. But a barber can employ the clippers with finesse."
talk about an Archie Bunker mindset!
and this B.S.
"Youll feel manlier. Every time I go to the barber shop I just feel manlier. I dont know what it is. "

so, I hope you guys had a good laugh because I sure hell did!!
I can recall as a child receiving many clipper burns when the barber held the top of my head as he shaved the back and sides as close as he could on many haircuts that I was coerced into getting from my Father.
these clowns on that site are a perfect example of the types I posted about previously. they think that the rest of us should conform and get the same haircuts as them or somehow we are not "masculine" enough if we chose not to follow them!!
screw them!!
let them live in the past!
I recall that era as a child and it definitely was NOT
'Happy Days' for me and I have no desire to ever visit another
barbershop ever again!!
LET YOUR FREAK FLAG FLY!!

My mom would cut our hair and perm the girls hair. All four of us hated what she did to our heads (and our hair too). The one thing she did find out was that clippers made for cutting dog hair were better quality than the ones made for people. Go figure! The hair cut forced apon us for years; the brush cut. So easy to do, just chop everything off to stubble. YETCH! Finally the Beatles arrived on scene and the brush cuts died and our hair could "touch" the collar. Around 1975 she relented further with the version shown here, Her version of hippie hair for sure.
