hey everyone, well my story is that I used to have long hair 3 years ago.. it was great i loved it.. but I was an idiot and i cut it because It was sort of uncomfortable with my wavy/curly hair, and now I´m thinking of letting it grow again but I'd probably have it straightened out. Any advice on awkward stage? I remember I used to just wear a cap every day for like a year, and after that year it was easier to handle. You guys think I should do this again or you have another idea? I really REALLY hate awkward stage heh
Hi Obzen,
I can relate to you with having wavy/curly hair and growing it out. What worked for me was to constantly wear a bandanna and avoiding the use of heat utensils at all cost. I think with summer wearing a bandanna should help out a lot and at the same time protect your hair from the sun. I remember I constantly wore a bandanna for a whole year, and I bought many for a dollar at Walmart. Please learn to love your own texture and avoid any heating tools including a blow dryer. There are ways to combat frizz such as using organic coconut oil to tame frizzy days.
I get told by many members in here that wavy/curly hair is only good when you start to have really long hair such as mid back length and below. I'm now at armpit length and it is starting to get better, especially since I can now bun my hair and not have to worry about my hair frizzing up or being really stubborn or poofy during really humid weather. A year is only a sacrifice and if you learn to ignore it time will go even faster. Just hang in there and the best advice I can give you is to please avoid heat tools because it will have drastic consequences when your hair starts getting really long by the ends being weak from using them.
good luck,
rowie
As stated AVOID hot iron tools, that killed my hair long ago. The only advice I can give is dorag or backward hat, least that's how I roll til it looks 1/2 way decent.
