Hey guys it has been a while since I have last posted, just been so busy with school and work. I barely have time for myself, but it seems at least I make time for my hair lol. When wet it hits right between my shoulder blades. I have rather thick wavy hair, a bit course, which I hate, but it is my hair and I have to live with what God gave me. I have started doing a lot more for it since the last time I have visited these boards. I was dating a person for a bit who also had long hair and he suggested I use and aloe vera water based hair gel, which has no alcohol, and I like it very much. Also, I use a Shae butter after my showers to keep my hair from drying out. After, which I usually tie it up into a bun to help shield it from the elements, absorb better, and due to work. During my shower I only shampoo the crown of my head, I add olive oil to the mid shaft downward, and then I condition as usual. Lastly, I started taking Biotin, not necessarily because I think it improves growth rate, but to be getting the vitamins that are good for ones hair and nails. I play classical guitar so I need strong nails anyways so I figured it was a good idea to take those supplements.
I am about to turn 28 and it has been a 2 year journey almost to the point where I am at and I will continue to grow my hair even into my new job, which I hope comes soon. Well I wish guys the best of luck in your hair growth journey. I will try to keep in touch more, but with everything being so chaotic right now I can only manage the odd creeping of the boards now and again.

Hey Ziggy,
Good to hear from you and see a nice update.
Thick, wavy and coarse are three words I associate with wonderful hair. I rue that my strands are mostly fine and suspect to damage very easily. Coarse hair stands up the best so gives you the potential to reach a great length while maintaining healthy hair.
Your new routines seems to be working well for you as your hair is the picture of health. I envy the body it has!
That's important that you are determined to keep your long hair as you transition to your next job. Best wishes on finding the position you want.

Awesome update Ziggy. I as well have thick coarse wavy hair so I feel you as to the difficulties I go through with my hair texture. I also bun my hair everyday, even right after a shower to avoid any friction. I've been doing this for months now after this picture was taken. This is a picture of my hair when wet a few months ago, as I don't have a current picture. As you can see I'm starting to see an improvement with my ends from bunning my hair at all times, so keep it up! I look forward to your future updates.

Great to see you drop back in Ziggy, to let us know how you've been:)Sometimes guys do stop posting and you wonder if they are just lurking or just gotten too busy to participate like you indicated.Worse case scenario, they just cut their long manes off:( At least that's not the case with you as it sounds like your putting in some quality time with your mane. That's cool your friend has offered advice to you on hair care as many of us don't have that luxury.I'm positive, in the end, you will have some awesome hair that is very long to your liking.Anyway good luck with your endeavors and hope to see you again in the not too distant future my friend:)Cheers

ps:BTW, Happy 28th Birthday when the big day arrives:)
