Since my natural hair color is dark brown, the henna blended in really nice and made it reddish/dark brown! I really like the look! :)

Your hair looks fantastic, Mark. It looks real smooth and silky. It is probably much more manageable now too. This should give you the potential to get more length too.
Scott
Thank you Scott! You're right, it is very silky and smooth! Made my hair feel better than before and it's a little past mid back which I prefer this length and I am happy with it. :) To me any longer hair would just take the fun out of having long hair on me in my opinion.
Looking awesome Mark. It looks natural to your hair, and your hair looks even more shiny! Thanks for the update.
cheers,
rowie
P.S what brand and what type (henna with indigo, henna with buxus, yemen henna, etc) did you use?
Ooops, I meant what brand since it's 100 percent henna. LOL
Thank you Rowie! I got my Henna from Amazon.com and it's called "Harvest Moon". Great product and one of the best hennas around! :D
Mark, that looks really good! I love the effect the henna has had. Did you use a bright red type of was it a subtler color? In any case, the combination with your existing color worked very well.
I'm still tempted to try henna. I think it would make my hair very red though!
Thank you Jason! Yeah the henna I used was pure henna and it makes a bright red color. Since my hair is dark, brighter red shows up better on my hair then when I used a dark burgundy which only showed up a little bit. If you have lighter hair, the better a darker color would show up and it's vise versa with a brighter color on dark hair. :) I think you should use the henna. You'll have a medium red tone added to your hair probably if you used it! :)
Will this product work to restore the previous color of hair that is starting to go grey?
for example , if you had medium brown hair at 25, but at 40 you have some white hairs mixed with dark can the white hairs be restored to medium brown?
One warning about henna is if you get the pure 100 percent henna it will be bright red on any grey hairs. It will be firey on you silvers for weeks before it darkens. I'll attatch a link that explains more about henna.
Please do a lot of research before attempting henna. Henna is a permanent dye and the only way to get rid of it for most people is to cut the hair. So be very careful. If you want to achieve a medium brown then I suggest you do a buxus/henna mixture, but again you will have to play with the ratios before you can achieve the color you want. Also you please do a strand test before you apply henna to your hair. You can do a strand test by collecting any loose sheddings from your comb or brush.
Most important do a lot of research, and you can start with the link I provide you. Henna is not like a box dye, it is a lot more involved than you think.
good luck,
rowie
Hey, Legolas. No, henna doesn't restore the grey hairs to their natural color, but it will make them super red! I have a few silver hairs even at only 25 years old and now they are very red in color and it looks cool in my opinion. :D
Your hair looks great Mark and "way cool" you did a 100% henna treatment this time around:)I'm still only doing 100% henna as I never tried any of the blending with buxus or indigo.I'm looking at either this Saturday or the following to redo my hair as it now has been over seven weeks since I last done it.The new growth is starting to show on top of my head which is the signal to do a tune up!lol. Thanks for posting that cool pic and do enjoy your new highlights my friend:)Cheers
Mârk
Thank you Mark! I found that pure henna gave me the best red highlights on my dark hair and the other non pure hennas never made my hair this colorful! :) I will stick with 100% pure henna from now on as well and you look awesome with it too! :)
Well Done !
That really looks great !!
Thanks for Sharing
Walter
Thank you Walter! :)
The color blend is very nice indeed !
Take care,
Vivien.
Thank you Vivien! :)
That's a very good look Mark :D
Thank you Ian! :)
It does actually look really good and very natural! Did you notice any kind of "thickening" effect?
I tossed the idea around of putting Cassia in my hair one day (colorless henna basically) for the touted thickening/volumizing effects.
Thank you Paladin! It does look very natural and awesome at the same time and as far as "thicker" goes...maybe some what, only because my hair is already super thick. :)
Hey Mark
That looks really great! Hair can be so much fun, and doing something like this looks really neat. Take care and hope all has been well with you.
Justin~
Thank you Justin! It was fun indeed! :D
Looks great Mark! I like the effect of the sun on the color blend.
- Oren
Thank you Oren! :D
Hi Mark,
I totally agree, your hair really does look good here, and congrats on a job well done!
Take care,
David
Thank you David! :D I like the new look better than my natural hair color alone.
Looks great Mark! Henna works really well on your hair. Are you using the organic one and is it a permanent or semi-permanent one?
cheers,
Duncan
Thank you Duncan! Oh yeah, all organic and it is permanent. Lasts about three months then you have to re do the henna treatment. :)
