Their have been two new posters that seem to do nothing but bitch and complain and try to get us all riled up at "the man" whilst being equally as judgmental themselves and equally as ignorant of hypocrisy and toleration. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are not trolls, but it seems as though the song remains the same and someone comes in with a bad attitude, tries to start trouble, has an easily thought of hair nickname, and no pictures to back themselves up (as far a I can recall, anyway).
Now, they may just be upset over the bullshit that we all have to deal with. But we're all tired of it. However, being annoying on an internet board and grandiose hypothetical and not very well thought out schemes to for all intensive purposes rid the world of short haired peoples is just rediculous, and the wrong route to go. It just makes you equally as ignorant and pathetic as those who try to oppress you.
Who cares if someone in a band has short hair. Maybe they prefer it that way. You're an asshole for ignoring the band music and focusing on the image. And who would fire someone for getting a hair cut? THAT is hypocritical from someone who wants equality for themselves. It's no different from thinking you're better because you're white, or because your eyes are brown, or because you're taller.
Obviously I'm all for long hair equality seeing as I have waist length hair, but I couldn't care less how long the hair is on the person who stands beside me, wether in music, work, protest, friendship, or any other walk of life. As long as they stand with me. So get down off your god damn pedestal and realize that someones hair length doesn't make them a better person. I can't believe I'm the kid (relatively) here and I have to tell you two this.

Should start with "There" not "Their"... I feel dumb
And pardon my language throughout the post, I know excessive language is in the rules (one a completely disagree with, but have enough respect for the board to overlook) but I am rather dissatisfied with those who I mentioned in the post. Apologies in advance if I offended anyone with it.
Don't let it bother you. Life is to short. You really cannot change people.

Hey Jarvis,
Hmmmmm, wonder who you could be referring to?LOL.Listen, I understand what your saying as the recent rash of posts like you've mentioned has turned me off as well.A little of that is fine but it's just snowballing and taking over the discussion in my opinion.Time to move on at this point so to speak. So your concerns have be recognized and thanks for your input.Do try and have a nice day in spite of it all my friend:)Cheers

I hear you Jarvis.
I like music by short and longhaired people. I'll admit though, that it's a plus to go to a metal show and have the band and most of the audience be longhairs. If I saw the CD covers of two bands I had never heard of and one band had long hair and the other one didn't, I'd listen to the longhaired band first.
The band Hatebreed for example has fairly extreme music that I enjoy. The members look like they're corporate Wall Street professionals with their 1940s haircuts. I think it's a poor choice on their part especially because at least the leader has a full head of hair but they're one of my favorite bands. I've seen them live and at least many in the audience didn't share their penchant for short hair.
I think some of the posts below were given in a tongue-in-cheek fashion and not meant to be taken literally.
Very well said! I completely agree with everything you wrote. I myself was wondering whether I should call out the trolls, but it looks like you beat me to it.
Hey Jarvis,
Well said; I have to agree with you.
Being a long hair, I prefer long hair for myself and for other guys. However, I would not discriminate against anyone nor say anything derogatory against anyone because they choose to wear their hair short or shave their head.
I am proud to be a long haired guy. I'm sure that most of my long haired brothers take pride in the fact that we respect the right of self expression for others; we expect it for ourselves.

Spot on Jarvis!

Yup, good call! It's funny how those "two new posters" haven't posted a word since your post. Hmmmm ....

Over the last few months there has been quite a bit of similar sounding (in tone and style) posters. This happens from time to time on forums...usually it fades away after a while when the parties involved find another place to stir up attention.
I especially disliked the discussion of stereotypes like Wigger and Chav. As I live in the largest city in the United States such terms are if not outright offensive, certainly speak of a lack of taste.
