My name is Will and I am 19. I have browsed around for a couple months and have found everything real helpful.
I am proud to say that today was the first day I have been able to get all of my hair in a ponytail! I am super pumped right now. That has been my goal for a while and I can't believe it is finally here! I finally feel like I can call myself a longhair now, sweet. I guess it is even more exciting for me because I grew my hair out because I wanted to have a ponytail. I know that isnt the case for most of you, but I love it and thats what counts.
peace out

Congrats, that's a seminal moment in the journey for every longhair. You've made it. I still remember the day in 2005 it happened for me and took a picture. You should too!
Nice, Was not long ago for me a guess last month actually. I can get it all back but the front and front sides can still get pulled out pretty easy unless the ponytail if fairly high which I do more of anyway cause it keeps it off my neck and its like 100 degrees here lol..
Hey Will,
Welcome to the tribe, dude!
I feel your excitement. What a rush!
I started wearing my hair in a ponytail on Jan. 9th last. I was ten (10) months out from a guage four (4) buzz cut. I definitely was and still am in the awkward stage. The hair on the sides and in the front of my head did not reach to the back in order to get caught in the tie forming my ponytail. I started using a styling spray to hold dow the loose ends so that I appear professional and kempt. The styling spray makes my hair feel hard and I have to finger comb the hairs free at night before I comb and brush it out. However, I prefer to let my hair go free and untethered when I can. I like to feel my hair blowing about my face and beginning to touch my shoulders. I am now fifteen (15) months into my long hair journey. The hair in the front of my head still does not quite reach to the back of my head in order to get caught in the tie forming my ponytail. BTW, I received a comment from a guy whom I had not seen for about a year last evening. He said that when guys get older and begin to get grey hair they grow a ponytail, get an earring, and drive a Harley. I said that I do not have an earring and I do not drive a Harley. He said that some guys when they get to be my age (57) go into their second (2nd) childhood. Anyway, I hope that I will be able to catch all of my hair in the tie forming my ponytail soon. I will not have to continue using the styling spray. I am trying to tuck my ponytail under the back of my collar so that my hair will be less offensive to those who ob ject to me having long hair.
Wearing your hair in a ponytail is defininately a milestone. Being able to gather all of your hair into the ponytail is definately a rite of passage for us longhairs. I feel pumped with you. I hope that I will be able to gather all of my hair into a ponytail soon.
Now that you have reached this milestone do you plan to let your hair grow longer? Keep us posted.
Once again; welcome to the tribe, bro!

Congratulations - a very special moment. Be proud and enjoy!
Hi will, and welcome to the mlhh! I'm glad you sound so happy with your hair and accomplishment to date:)That's what its all about right? So is that you final destination or does your hair have a further mission? Some guys reach their first goal and then decide to set a new one.Regardless you do what makes you happy my friend and hope to see a pic of that tail someday:)Cheers

I think you become a long hair when you decide to grow your hair out...it is a state of mind, not a hair length! Being able to ponytail it IS the first major length marker though! I guess, a ponytail does tell the rest of the world that you are a long hair, rather than just forgetful of having haircuts :)
You are now in the most annoying stage of growing...it does get better, in a lot of ways.
Hey Will - Do you have a current pic of your hair?
