First off, I assume I am one of these "alleged" trolls that Jarvis is referring to.
second, I was being factious. apparently some of you do not have a sense of humour on this site.
I was using a play on words with "hair must extend at least 1-2" over the collar" which was a parody of many corporate dress codes regulating Men's hair length which usually states something such as:
"hair must not exceed collar length ..."
would I fire someone for having too short of hair as an employer?
of course not!
apparently Val and some of the others realized I was joking, but some of you are taking this way too seriously.
how a person wears his/her hair length should only be their business and no one else including a corporation, but unfortunatly most courts continue to rule in favor of these draconian "dress codes" mandating short haircuts for Men in most workplaces. it is by and large Sex discrimination and that is what the original post was all about.
also, human-beings will often jump in when others attack someone as a group since they want to be part of that particular group they have to get their own "two cents" in.
instead of being judgmental, why not look for the warning signs of the first stages of an oppressive society emerging because it can happen and I do believe it is possible that it is already under way in the U.S., but I am not hear to start any conspiracy theories so I will allow you to think about what I've said and take it any way you want.
anyway, for those who continue to remain under the assumption that I am a "Troll", especially since I have not posted for a couple of days think what you will, but the truth is if it is really anyone's business is I was out of town visiting a friend who does not have internet service.
so, if you feel I post too much perhaps you should take a vote on how much you think I should post.
anyway, I wish everyone here a safe and happy weekend.
peace and love,
Jerry
Considering how many fights/arguements i've had since I started growing my hair ln 1964 i have no sense of humour on the topic.
It all started in 1964 and lasted alot of years. It wasn't until about ten years ago that it ceased being a source
of fights and arguements.
Finally i'd point out that there are alot of excellent
rock bands/rock acts who happen to have short hair.
Oh and there is the iconic photo of John Lennon
the day he cut off all his hair. I didn't stop enjoying his
music after he cut his hair.
No vote necessary Jerry but what can sometimes happen when a newbie shows up here and immediately posts either long winded threads or ones considered off topic suspicions can arise.Fair or not most regulars don't know this newbie who has never introduced himself or posted a picture so then the thought of a troll comes into play. You likely could be on the up and up but you came off like you've been a regular here for ages and no one knows who you really are.Anyway I hope I explained it well enough but that's just my thought on the subject.Cheers

Yawn, I'm afraid
Well, I suppose I'm to blame for some of this, as I started the joke about hiring only longhairs and firing shorthairs.
But it wasn't intended to be taken seriously. Like most of us here (and I have been posting here for about ten years), I respect other people's choices, and I expect them to respect mine.
Let's get back to enjoying growing.
I always assumed it was tongue in cheek. Storm in a teacup, this is.
