A long hair God. John Tardy from Obituary.
This is the length and thickness i'm looking to achive.
I know not any people are into death metal or metal in general, but I love this band! Very epic hair John has and it make the stage presence even better. There's a song called "Don't Care" that I instantly thought of.
Here's a real huge inspiration to me though, one of my all-time musiccal inspirations and just an all around awesome guy.
i love long hair on men and rock music but as someone
who has alot of family members die in recent years (including an
uncle who just died last week at the age of 92) is it really
necessary to name your band Obituary?
I really have to wonder why some of these bands choose the names
they do.
this is NOT Rock and Roll music so unless you want to listen to something that sounds like a freight train with lots of 'grunts' and where the lyrical themes are death, destruction and other taboo themes I don't think you would like this stuff.
these bands hold an extreme nihilistic attitude about life.
"Although violence may be explored in various other genres as well, death metal may elaborate on the details of extreme acts, including mutilation, dissection, torture, rape and necrophilia."
"Death metal vocals are often guttural roars, grunts, snarls, and low growls colloquially known as death growls."
That is because they are obsessed with death and destruction.
these types of bands appeal to the fringe of society, mostly young antisocial males, who are often very angry, feel alienated and often hold extreme right-wing or fascist beliefs and are often very violent people.
Hatecore is another extreme metal style similar to Death Metal and I don't think it's necessary to define what it is since the word "Hate" pretty much sums it up.

Since you have decided to very bluntly and derogatorily define fans of death metal, I will do the same to you and define you based on your ignorant post, as ignorant. There are many fans of metal here who don't fit your description and I don't think would appreciate your comments, myself included. Your ignorance is obvious due to the fact that you have a very basic definition of death metal. Death metal encompasses many different lyrical themes, not simply "death and destruction". It is actually categorized by the vocal approach and riffing style not lyrical content.
I have been absent from this board for quite a while and I frankly am ashamed to see such bigotry displayed on the first post I read.
-Garth
Frankly, it's turning me off to the board. There are about 3 or 4 newbies, none if which have given a proper introduction or a picture and are posting crap like this. Frankly, I thought this guy was gone but I guess he's back. Haven't seen the others in a few days though atleast.
Agreed. A lot of the recent posts in question seem to be skirting the fringes of trolldom. At the very least, they are extremely judgmental, and a poor "fit" for what used to be the defining culture of this excellent little online community.
--Val
Indeed. I take slice in the fact that those who troll here are short loved while us regulars that maintain that culture are those who prosper and continue to take part.
Hi Val,
Trust me we are on the case of what's been going on with our newbie users.Certainly we appreciate our long time friends, such as yourself, and don't want any of you to feel the board is changing.Sometimes it just takes a bit of time to evaluate the situation.I personally thank all our regular users for their support :) Cheers

Kudos to the MLHH's moderation crew. Your hard work and dedication to this community are very much appreciated. I have no doubt that the spirit of courtesy and decorum will, as has always been the case here, win out in the end.
Best regards,
Val
P.S.--For those of you who are too new here to realize it, the goal of this community is to lift up the cause of men's right to have long hair, not to denigrate or oppress people with more "conventional" aesthetic tastes.
Stick around, man. We need ya.

Now I on the other hand am looking at this from the eyes of a
57 year old and has seen alot of family and friends die
in past years.
So i'm looking at life as precious, we're only this planet
for a limited number of years.
John's hair truly looks awesome, especially when he's moving it all around on stage. My personal hair ideal has and always will be Danny Cecati of Eyefear and Pegazus. Just plain epic.
He is defenantly the Samson of the month more like of the year!

I admire John Tardy's mane of hair as my own texture is similar to his. My taste in music is bit different though.
cheers,
Duncan
Really cool. They ware playing at Hellfest 2012, here in France (I was there, but didn't see them)
