So is the Rock of Ages movie as bad as i'm hearing it is?
I'm hearing how great the hair in the movie is but i'm also
hearing from a number of people how bad the movie is......so
bad they've walked out of the movie and demanded their money back.
So is it really that bad?
Should I avoid the movie?
Should I avoid this movie even when it is free on cable
in several months?
Below is the take for the movie at the box office.
(Studios like to make 85% of the gross at the box office,
movies drop off fast after the first week. And judging from
the feed back i'm getting from movie goers it won't do well,
Word of mouth is not good for this movie from what i'm hearing.)
I watched "Rock of Ages" yesterday, and on the one hand I can't say, that I am disappointed now, but on the other hand - if I had known, that there are so few long-haired men in the movie, I wouldn't have been particularly keen to watch it. You don't have to avoid the movie at all; maybe you'll gain experience of that movie genre. But please don't expect too much. If you don't know yet the similar movie "Rock Star" (2001), watch it at first.
When I watched Rock of Ages, sometimes I got the impression that there were some short-haired men with long-hair wigs among the actors.
I wish there were much more movies on this subject - Rock music, Heavy Metal, long haired men in the Seventies and Eighties... of course with real long-haired actors.
