It seems the only way we can legally fight discrimination is if we all together form the church of longhair or something. I would love to be a minister in this church. A lawyer has told me that would be a bonifide way to wear your hair long and be able to fight harrassment based on religous ressons
It's already been done by one of our long time members.
Hair Religion
Could this "Hair Religion" actually stand up in the court of law???
Eric
I don't know, but here's the link

PS: I am a minister in the Universal Life Church, as is Eric, who founded the Hair Religion. You can get ordained by the ULC online at
http://www.themonastery.org
By becoming a ULC minister you agree that you will always try to do the right thing. Belief in a deity or deities is entirely optional.
Thanks much elektros, I'm going to go check it out... sounds tempting :) !
Sincerely,
Eric
"Yeah, but consider the *source*, son!" - The Devil's Advocate
Please, let's not forget the elephant in the room. The world doesn't need another religion. Religion is the *problem,* not the solution.
I would suggest, if you want to fight harassment, do it from within. Stand tall, be *proud* of your hair, dress well, carry yourself well, have a good attitude in response to mockery and ridicule, and do some self-reaffirming: "*I* think it looks good on *me*."
Best thing you can do is take *extremely* good care of it. Do some research, spend the extra $$$ on high-quality shampoos and conditioners. Take a few hours and spend some *serious* time in front of the mirror a few times. Then, every day, don't just beat it with a stick and leave in the morning. Spend some time on it preparing for the day.
Walk with confidence and you will be respected.
