Still growing strong, here is my 6 months update (1 day early).
From now on I will get in the awkward stage and will finally feel like a longhair again :)
Can't wait for another 6 months of growth and more .....!

Well just don't cut your hair and you don't have to go through it, I know you wont.
I knew what I would get myself into when I cut it and I was willing to go through the awkward stage again.

I must say I beleive your hair looks better at this length then it does longer, hey that is only me talking musy guys on here will say grow it longer, but i like your look even better now at it's present length.

Thanks for giving your opinion, I like both short and longhair but I like changing things so I could never have the same hair all the time. I'm enjoying my short hair but will be happy when it's long again.

I don't see it that way, maybe you can't relate because you would never think about cutting it. I did and I have never regretted that decision. I cut it because I was traveling for 5 months and I was easier with short hair.

My hair color is more like dark blond. The tips are always lighter than the roots of my hair. I've never been compared to shaun white, I will look for pictures.
My hair is lower back length now, but I sure remember the awkward stage. Will never forget my wife and I were working at the same office complex and one of her friends told her one day during that time that, "...Steve looks like a cave man!!" Almost three years later, I guess I'm showing that friend and anyone else who doesn't like it that I really don't care what they think. I enjoy being and looking like me.
Hang in there. The wait will be worth it, if that's what you want to do.

What I remember hearing him say at the time was that he cut it because he was doing a lot of traveling to unfamiliar countries over a long period of time, and wanted to not have to worry about maintaining long hair during that time.
But, he'll probably soon answer your question directly himself, giving more details and/or correct me if I'm wrong about anything I just said.

Ken is correct, the main reason was traveling and didn't want to maintain it during that time. I also liked to have short hair again for a while, as I both like short and longhair. Because longhair takes a long time to grow out it's not possible to change very often, this was the perfect opportunity.
I don't regret my decision although I look forward to have longhair again. I'm enjoying short hair, I've got a lot of different looks atm and experiment with my hair a lot (without cutting!). I enjoy growing out as well.

Lookin' great there, Vincent, it's so nice to see that terrific head of hair of yours growing & flowing back to long again!
I tried not to be too heart-broken over hearing about you cutting it short whenever that was, as everyone has the right to do whatever they want with their own mane; but in your case, you had such an exceptionally great-looking mane when it was long that I had to force myself not to think about it -- I guess that means I should have gone to see a therapist about my issue with hating haircuts that much (LOL)!!

I can understand you are upset, and I'm glad there are still people not brainwashed by society. Most people like me better with shorthair but I don't think it's there own opinion, just a brainwashed drone opinion. You would say it's split 50/50 or something but I met far more people who like the shorthair better (apart from this board). I always thanks people when they say they miss the longhair!
Everyone is different and I've never regretted my decision that I cut my hair.
A lot of people here are going for maximum length or at least shoulder length and longer. Fair enough as this is the longhair board!
My vision is different. I like al sorts of hair and want to experiment with different styles. Throughout my life I had al sorts of different styles, I never had one style for more than a few years.
Last time I grew my hair out my goal was but length hair and once I made that I cut back to mid-back length because I don't want to have maximum length for a long period of time.
In my opinion, my hairstyle should fit to my lifestyle at the moment. My hairstyle should make me happy with whatever I want at that moment. When I was traveling I loved not being able/having to style my hair! Atm I love being able to style my hair again and experiment with different styles :) It's good to feel my hair moving independently of my body and letting the wind go through it.
I haven't decided on my final goal yet, just letting it grow and enjoying it. I don't think it will let it grow as long as it used to be, because it's a little bit to long for my active lifestyle. Probably somewhere around shoulder length or maybe shoulder blade length. Still long but easier to maintain and the possibility to wear it down more! When it became to long I had to wear it in a tail all the time to protect it, imho it's far better to show you beautiful hair to everyone :)
Hope everyone understand me a bit better now and can respect my opinion. Some people on this board can only see it one way and that is their way. Try to respect everyone even if you don't agree with them!

I understand your reasoning and respect you desire to wear your hair in a way that works for you:)With that said you must understand,and I'm sure you do,the users of this board are into growing hair out because that's what we're about.So if you take some flak about your comments of liking short hair its to be expected.I'm sure its nothing personal but we are here to support men's longhair as it should be.When you had your hair really long it was outstanding but you chose another direction that works against our goals.Anyway I'm glad your back but truthfully I liked the longer hair better my friend;)Regardless your still the same person either way so enjoy your journeys.Cheers

Since you have straight-ish hair, the awkward phase should go relatively smooth (compared to those with curly hair like me)
