I would have not have been able to find the motivation to grow out my hair for the first time to the extreme length I did if it wasn't for this board.
I know I just might be feeding the trolls with this post, but my tolerance is growing thin.Lately however, I've been seeing a lot genre bashing in music. What is even more insulting is the borderline racism and stereotyping, I see with these posts. As an atheist, this concerns me.
One poster said that anyone that listened to Hip-Hop music must have the smarts of a 3rd grader. I have long hair and most of my friends who are hip-hop musicians and fans have short hair, though one artist has long head of kinky curls like Micheal Jackson had in the early 80s, not once have they called me out for my hairstyles besides the usual male bantering.
Another Poster seems to like to bash alternative music.
Then I read another poster that is bashing death metal. While I don't care for death metal, it's my preference and I don't judge anyone for liking it.
These posts and comments started around A few months ago. Longhairrevolution, pirate male, rock and roll fan. Seem to be from the same person.
I agree that things have gone downhill lately. The disrespect for others seems to be increasing. It's discouraging to me so I can just imagine how new visitors must feel and may be discouraged from growing their hair.
We need to get back to being about long hair and I would encourage the moderators to kill threads that show any disrespect to others on or off this board.
I actually wrote close to this same post a bit ago as my own thread. Trust me, it's annoying all of us regulars, but it seems that the trolls finally left.
However, I don't believe Piratemale to be a troll. If I remember correctly, he did give us an introduction with a front picture to boot. I also haven't seen the same racial/musical/short hair bashing from him as I did with the others. I haven't had any issue with him.
However, rockandrollfan, Old Hippie, Longhairrevolution, and a few others were here to just stir the pot and have since left the board.

I agree. I posted something in response to rockandrollfan a little while back. It was very upsetting to come back to the board after a long absence, only to see such bigotry and stereotyping happening.
Fact is, I think that's what has caused this rift in the first place:
"Us vs. them."
Sure, it's swell when we longhairs are united against the cause of the evil indoctrinating brainwashing sheeple hordes walking the streets who want us to get cut, but once two longhairs collide, the entire board has to come to a screeching halt and wait for the flame war to pass?
Maybe it's because I was raised in a Christian Reformed church, but I'm absolutely sick to death of a specific member (he probably knows who he is) bashing Christianity, and religion in general. "Oh ho ho, religion is for the weak minds who have to be taught how to think by the man, I say from my high horse!"
The difference is that I don't respond to trolls like this. And neither should you. If you know they're wrong, then let them be wrong in their own peace. You're not a crusader set out to set the heretics on the right path. Besides, that person is probably just as sure in himself as you are.
Stop treating this board like a schoolyard.
