Hello my ampley maned brothers! I'm jack, and I started growing my hair almost 2 years ago. I wanted to do this since 1969 when I was 8 but my Father, than my wife always said no, so I ended up going to the barber, and never truly being happy with myself.
Right around the time I was to turned 50, I was newly divorced, and just awarded my social security disablity. I relized theres no time like the present, and started to let it grow. i got past the akward stage about 4 months ago, and now have a great ponytail!
Can't tell you how good I feel when i look in the mirror. I finally am truly haappy with who i am, and feel enpowered. Ai even get more looks and smiles from the ladies, when I go around town!
You all keep that hair growing. Maybe we'll even bring the 60's back again soon!
Congratulations on your decision to grow out your hair, yes it is empowering, and very natural too! Looks great on you, keep on growing
Dave
I agree! Your hair looks great! How long are you going to grow your hair?

Greetings, Jack. Your hair looks good. With more length, it will look even better. Looking good.

Hi Jack,
You have a terrific-looking head of hair there, looks very impressive for having grown it out for such a short time, I'd say!!
I can relate very much to your story, because I didn't get to experience my first ponytail length myself until my 40th birthday -- and yet I had always wanted to have long hair, even as a young kid. My father would not allow any hair-length other than military-short on me or my brothers in his household when we were all growing up, even into our teen years; so it wasn't until after I left home at age 18 that I got to experience hair even as modestly long as just barely covering the ears and past eyebrow-length in front, sacrificing completing my college education, though, in order to get away from my dad's control.
Having jobs during my 20s and early 30s that wouldn't allow hair-length on males beyond collar-length in back prevented my going "all-out" to the extreme length that I have now; but also it takes some guts to get over the timidity of having been "brain-washed" over the years by conservative-thinking minds that surround us longhair-wannabes -- so a big CONGRATS to you for your recent long hair accomplishments, I know well how wonderful it feels!!
Thanks so much for sharing your story with us, I find it very inspiring -- and as I said earlier, I can definitely relate!
