Hey guys,
I am new here, but I have lurked a little in the past for motivation. I am eleven months in and still persevering. Almost out of the awkward stage.
Even though there have been some tough moments, particularly since I work in a conservative occupation with a lot of short hair cuts, I gotta say I'm feeling like a bit of a rock star lately. I used to get crap at work for the hair, but deep down I think these guys are jealous. Some even said they "wish" the could do what I was doing (wife won't "let them," too scared, etc.) The older I get, and the more I see how men seem to have limited independence, the more I want to keep growing my hair. Part of this mental transition I think comes from being newly-single.
I grew up with rock and roll and I still love it. I'd love my hair to look like Dave Grohl's. I guess I'm still 22 at heart and refuse to "settle down" (whatever that really means). LOL.
Looking good - keep on rocking!

Your hair looks good. Have you thought of a beard to go with the hair?
Scott
Thanks! I love not shaving for a week or two, as that look seems to work with the hair, but I can't seem to grow a full beard.
I think you'd be surprised at what you can do in that "conservative" profession.
26 years ago I got my current job, in an office, and I expected lots of pressure to cut my hair from the new job (it was knee length at the time). Well that was 26 years ago, low and behold
my hair is still long (although it is now nipple length, much of the tiem it has been waist length (I found knee length was too long to take care of), and most days i'm wearing cut
off shorts, shorts, jeans, overalls, or jeans with holes in them.
I would also mention that there are two other guys, besides me,
who also work for the company who have long hair. And there are
a number of other employees who basically wear the same thing
as I do.
So it depends on the employer you're working for.

Hi there hairdude,
First of all, your hair looks GREAT -- in fact, you're not too far away from being over with the infamous "awkward stages", just another 6 months or so when you'll be able to pull it all back into a tail by then.
You have a wonderful, very healthy-looking, full head of hair to work with! And I love your comments about the mental transition time you're experiencing right now.

Thanks, Ken. I used to live in SF. Miss it up there.
Welcome aboard hairdude, some great looking hair for the start of what I hope will be a long and happy journey - there will always be some difficulties, but if long hair is what you want them go for it!
Hey great looking hair, you remind me of Till Lindemann from Rammstein more than Davie Growler though!!
Cheers !
