so what better thing to do but tune up the mane with another henna treatment:)Have to admit I have this routine down to a science and don't even mind wearing the henna for hours on end:)I'm even enjoying the smell of the henna washed from my hair after wards.Just for the record this month marks the one year anniversary of my very first henna treatment that left me a changed man;)Hope you all are having a nice weekend.Cheers

Considering much of the US of A has the worst draught since the
1930s i'd enjoy the rain while you have it.
Your hair is looking good. What the advantages of Henna?
Thank you for the kind words.Other than the color this particular henna has given my hair it also has conditioning properties that I think make my hair feel nicer after wards.Of course you can't use it on a regular basis like a standard conditioner as that would be too costly.I'd add henna isn't for everyone as it is a process to apply and wait out for the henna to do it's work. You must be prepared to set aside a few hours to do the process. After you've done it a few times it's much easier to do the followups.Cheers

A water super highway is the answer. We have had the technology to build an interstate pipeline/canal system for over a century. Pump water out of flood zones to drought zones. Storm winds can provide the energy to pump the water, saving on electricity. The cost of this is much less than the damage that floods do.
Scott
Except that much of the nation is in drought right now and it
is very unusual.
Also with elected officials unwilling to fix deteriorating bridges, etc. I don't see it happening.
Drought conditions

Truly sad, they are penny wise and pound foolish. The water super highway would be costly, but far less costly than the damage from droughts and floods.
BTW, my anti virus program blocked that site regarding drought.

Your hair is gorgeous, Mark. It just gets better with each henna treatment. See you at the party in September.
Scott
Hi Scott,
I have to conclude after almost a year of doing the henna to my hair I never regretted it. I look forward to each time I retreat it in spite of the time it takes to complete the application.Just gives me an excuse to hang around for half a day and just relax.
Looking forward to doing the party for the third time this year.I'll be due for another henna treatment the week before so I'll be all redded up again:)Cheers

Hi Mark,
Your hair really looks good with this henna, and cheers to a job well done! One of these days, I hope to get down to your area once again, and hopefully, we can avoid the rain this time around!
Take care,
David
Hi David,
Hope you have been having nicer and also cooler weather north of the border unlike here by me.It's really been dry but lately we have been getting these wild thunderstorms rolling through every so often.Sure makes it hard having an outdoor BBQ!lol
The henna is fast approaching the one year milestone as I wonder where the time has gone.It was last August I took the plunge with the first treatment which gave my hair a whole new meaning:)Thankfully it was for the better, I feel, as to this day I have never regretted doing it for a second. The only drawback is all the followups to keep it looking its best so you must be committed if you want to go this route.I find applying it kind of relaxing on a Saturday morning when I have no other obligations.Forces me to just sit back and take it easy for that few hours.
Anyway hope to possibly catch up with you in the future should you ever venture close to the area. Can't believe how long its been since we last met in person.Do enjoy the remainder of the weekend my friend.Cheers

Hey Mark-
That looks really great! Stunning actually. Little wonder that you are smiling. I would be too if I were you.
Hope you are having a nice Summer. At least we are getting a "real" Summer out here for a change after the last two which were flops.
Don't know just what it is, but I have had such a thing for Clam Chowder lately and need my "fix." Hmmmmmmm, "Duarts" wouldn't be all that bad now would it. :-)
All the best-
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Hope all has been well with you as it has been awhile since we have chatted.Need to give you a call sometime to catch up on things.
Thanks for the compliments of my hair as coming from you that means a lot:)I still enjoy the process of reapplying the henna as it is kind of relaxing. It's nice to just hang out while the henna does its work.
Its been quite a summer out east here with lots of heat and humidity:(Kind of wonder how August will play out as I'm hoping it cools off for the remainder of the summer. As for that clam chowder it does sound like a trip to Duarte's is in order:)Looking forward to a return trip out west.Have a great week my friend:)Cheers

Hi Markie - Happy 1st hennaversary!
Send some rain my way - It's in the 100's and dry here.
Looking great!
- Oren
Hey Oren:)
I'd be glad to send some rain your way but you have to accept some humidity also.LOL.As July draws to an end it will be interesting to find out what August delivers.
Yea I should throw a big henna party to celebrate the occasion:)Imagine all the redheads afterwards;)He he.Thanks for the kind words my friend.Cheers

Hey Mârk,
Henna looking good as always :D ! If I can get the ol' brain cells working, it's about every two months per treatment, right :o ? I'm still always been tempted to go the indigo henna route since I saw a kid who had his long hair died with it in Grand Lake ten or so years ago, but I don't think I'd be able to see the next day here at home as far as my wife goes :p ... don't wanna push my luck ^_~ heh.....
Now you'll have to educate me if you would, please... I know a shop here where they do henna hand tattoos (tattoo is probably the wrong word - it's similar to what the Hindus do in India) on special occasions. What's the difference between that and the henna hair die - less potent or same stuff :o ???
Thanks in advance ;) !
Sincerely,
Eric
Hi Eric,
Thank you for the kind words as always and to answer your question I
generally redo the henna every seven weeks give or take a week.I could
let it go longer as the henna does not fade but the new growth starts to become
noticeable on the top of my head which screams " this guy must dye his hair!" lol.
Also my beard is completely faded of the color since I do trim that.Yes, I do henna my beard also;)
As for you question all I know is of the permanent henna that I purchase
through a website called... mahandi.com
Hope I got that spelling right;)I think you should give henna a shot as what's
the worst that can happen.OK so your wife gives you a lump of sugar on your head!He he.Anyway check out that website Eric as I' ve called them for advice
and they are helpful:) Likely you'll need to leave a message but they do return calls.Have a great day my good friend:)Cheers
Mârk
hey Markie-babes, your hair routine certainly seems to be working, I don't know if its my imagination but your mane looks fuller, anyway cool picture :)
cheers Dave
Hi Dave,
I always love the way my hair looks just after the treatment and the next couple weeks thereafter. After that my beard starts loosing the color due to trims as I like keeping that at a certain length.Since I don't trim my hair it takes much longer before new growth at my scalp becomes noticable to the point I feel its time to go over it again which I found is like seven weeks. As for it looking fuller I think it has to do with the darker color as if I were to bleach my hair I feel it would look too thin.Just my opinion but my hair is fine and straight and a light color does seem to make it appear thin. Thanks for your comments my friend:)Cheers
Mârk
Hi Mârk,
Wow your hair is looking awesome. I'm glad you still update the board with your henna journey. With henna, it forces you to pamper yourself once in a while, which sadly, not a lot of people take the time to pamper themselves because of work or a busy lifestyle. I also take the time every three months and have a henna ritual with a friend, and have mud on our hair, and veg out half the day, and then compare results. It can be a very bonding experience with a friend, and I can only imagine it must of been the same like in ancient Egypt, when a group of men would do their henna (including beards for some).
Well, it's good to see your post while passing by. I just returned from my MLHH sabbatical that I think I might of mentioned before. So much I feel you guys need to be updated, but i'll probably do a very short update. Maybe a hair length update or something. Ok I hope you have a good week my friend.
always,
rowie
Hi rowie,
I have to admit enjoying "henna day" when it rolls around as it does give me the excuse to just hang out and be lazy for a few hours while henna is busy working on my hair:)I never thought of making it a "shared experience" as that would be a rare occurrence to find another longhair locally into doing henna.Your fortunate to have someone nearby who is into it also:)
Hmmmm, so a sabbatical eh? I never seem to be able to stay away that long so what can I say!LOL.Even on vacations I always peek in to see the goings on.Would feel like I would be missing something should I take any amount of time away from the board.Anyway great seeing you back, my friend, as I was wondering what happened to you once I noticed your absence.Cheers
