Hi all,
August is here - believe it's been one full year and maybe a week of actively participating on the board and feeling pretty snazzy considering :D . Saw progress this month, wow :o ! Feel great :D !!!
A first happened the other day... went to roll up my car window while sitting straight up with the AC blowing straight on and ouch!!! Got my hair caught in the window >< (didn't tear any out, though ~o~ ). Reminds me of the first time I rolled my hair up in my truck window while leaning over at the ATM months and months ago :p ... all of this is great ^^ !
Also, a product warning - I did a big no-no and used a hair product :( . Do not use this - major hair damage was done! Mane 'n Tail Moisture Enriched Hair Strengthener... saw it at Sally's one day, thought hey, strengthen the hair, protect the hair - try it out! Yeah, if you want to rip it out :p (the hair, that is ~_~ )! Not sure if it was over-use, abuse or just what it was (or even the hard water of the Rockies), but I feel real dumb since it took me a week and a half to catch on :/ . The damage is not real noticeable in this picture, but after combing or in a ponytail - yikes @_@ ! Oh well, a learning experience, I guess :p ~
Otherwise, things have been crazy around here lately - tomorrow morning at 3am I start heading towards ORD to see my in-laws off to Beijing (heh :p ~), so if anyone's poking around the Beijing departure gate sometime tomorrow afternoon at Chicago-O'Hare (Thursday - can't image who would :p ~), stop by and say hi :) !
...and if not, please try to cool off and enjoy a hot August ^_^ (hopefully not too hot >_> ..)! Later ^^ ~
Sincerely,
Eric
Hi Eric,
Congratulations on such outstanding growth, and for reaching your "caught in the car window" milestone! Your hair looks great, and is thick and in excellent condition. Keep up the good work!
Keep it growing,
David
Hi David,
Thanks ^^ ! So this "caught in the window" milestone must be common fore everyone, huh :p ??? I'd better watch out because the car door comes next ^_~ heh!
Until later ^^ !!!
Sincerely,
Eric
Hi Eric,
A definite congrats on the hair milestone even though getting ones hair caught is far from pleasant!LOL.Fortunately no real damage was done so all is good:)
I have never heard of that particular Mane N Tale product but I've heard in general the brands products were good. Not sure why you would experience damage from something that's supposed to benefit you hair but have you considered contacting the company's customer service?Maybe they may have an answer as to what went wrong and it can't hurt just providing feedback for their future products.Wouldn't hurt to also mention you have lots of male friends with long hair who are always looking for products geared to them;)
As for the inlaws hopefully its a happy goodbye and not one of those..."Finally they are leaving" sorts of sendoffs!LOL.Must be interesting having Chinese relatives from your perspective.Anyway thanks for the info and update my friend.Have a lovely August:)Cheers
Mârk
Hi Mârk,
Hmmm, no damage done in the car window but I think there might have been a stressed hair follicle for two up there somewhere :p heh. Definitely another milestone to remember :D !
...and actually, that's a real good suggestion on contacting there customer service, thank you ^^ (I hadn't thought of that :p )! I remember back when I was a kid my parents were serving us kids canned corn for lunch... well, a worm of some sorts unfortunately became a victim of it's own gluttonous appetite before the canning process. The worm became cooked, canned, re-cooked and ended up in one of our dinner bowls. (after seeing the cooked worm, we didn't want to eat corn for the rest of the week...) But going back to the story, my parents called the company that canned the corn for fun and the company offered us a ton of coupons! My parent's reply: Don't think the kids want to eat more veggies after seeing that worm :p ...
A year's supply of shampoo and conditioner? Wouldn't be bad :D ... but I think I might give 'em a call anyways - always been happy with their products except for this one.
Nah, it was a happy goodbye but it is nice to finally have some peace and quiet for a change ~_~ ... they'll be back :) . It's fun having Chinese as in-laws and a whole family of Chinese on the other side of the family tree... I keep on referring to it as a Chinese fire drill (I don't mean for that to sound bad), because after all of my experiences with my in-laws, that's about the only way I can describe the whole thing :p ! They have so much energy, too ~o~ .....
Ah well, I've typed too much now - you have a great August too and see you around the bend ^_^ .....
Sincerely,
Eric
Eric
Thanks for the great update and story.
Safe Travels
WWT
Hey WWT,
Thanks ^_^ ! Travels were safe :) ... just as long as I can avoid those nasty pat-downs, I'll be a happy flyer ;) heh.....
Sincerely,
Eric
Hi Eric,
Nice to see you! I'm glad you're the first post I saw upon returning from my MLHH sabbatical. What a wonderful update and progress with your length. Your mane is looking fantastic and I am glad that no damage was done to your mane. Your mane looks really full and vibrant. Keep it up!
I'm glad that you're sharing the little milestones you encounter with us. It makes the growing journey more interesting to hear different experiences, and what to look forward to...
I'm guessing August marks your hair growth anniversary. My year anniversary is in January. Yep! I had a military buzz cut and when the new year came, I decided to grow my hair. Here I am at a little past APL when my hair is wet. You know how it is for us wurly/curly haired peeps. I feel for us wurly/curly haired men, the only way to see actual length is when the hair is wet and stretched out. But that is only in my opinion, and because I feel we wurly/curly haired men get robbed of length with our waves or curls. hehehehe.
Ok i'm starting to ramble. I hope you have a wonderful weekend in advance.
peace out,
rowie
Hi rowie,
Glad you're back :D !... and thank you so much for the kind compliments ^^ !
Actually, January marks the beginning of my journey, too, so we have something there in common ;D (be curious how many years you've been growing out your hair - can't remember off the top of my head, sorry >< ~)! And from the sounds of it, the car window milestone is pretty common, so looking at the length of your hair, you must have reached it a long time ago - I wonder how you fared with your thick hair :o ?...
Can't really say where my hair is when wet (never have paid attention - I know I can stretch it out a good length), but you are totally right... the curliness/waviness of hair like ours makes it look like it's going nowhere awfully fast for many months >< ! I look at some of the guys with straight as straight hair and I just can't believe how fast it look like it grows :o ! Ah well, I think a little wave to hair does looks nicer than plain, don't you think :) ?
I really liked your update this month and hope to see more upcoming down the road ^_^ . Have a great month and please keep that great hair grown ^^ !.....
Peace~,
Eric
Hi Eric,
Sorry for the delayed reply. But your hair is looking awesome! I like the color and the natural v hemline you have. Be careful with your mane and keep it growing!
Hope your relatives had a good trip home and you were able to get some rest! That's pretty early!
You can bet we will be having a hot August down here in Texas! As for enjoying it-I don't think so!
Take care, Ted
Hi Ted,
Welcome and my turn for the late reply :p . Thank you for all of the well wishes - the trip went pretty well... my in-laws plane was delayed for 8 hours, but oh well, they're back home ^_^ .....
Heh, I had to look up the word hemline :p . I should have known it, but my wife doesn't wear dresses or skirts, etc. ~_~ . There's a first for everything ;) ... anyways, thanks for the kind words ^^ !
Keepin' it cool :p ~
Sincerely,
Eric
Hi Eric,
I am very glad to hear your in-laws are home okay. Seems like there is always some kind of delay at the airport. I got the word hemline from talking to a female co-worker who cut people's hair. She filled me in on the whole hemline bit.
I like the color and texture of your hair. I can't wait to see what your hair looks like when it gets longer. Please don't even think about cutting it!
Don't worry about the late reply. I am sure you have a life besides the internet:). As for me, I am not working because of being on disability. So, I tend to get impatient when people don't reply back right away on Facebook etc. My primary job right now is dialysis 3 times per week. So, I spend a lot of time on the computer. Keep on growing that wonderful hair!
Ted
Ted,
Wishing you a heathy and speedy recovery for your ailments :) ! Sounds like tough stuff, but I'm sure you'll get through it, just hang in there ^_^ . Welcome to see your posts anytime, my friend - good luck on your longhair journey and see you around here ^^ !
Sincerely,
Eric
