Here are a few pics of my progress at 18 months. I recently had a beard trim. I trimmed 3 inches off of it and now wish I wouldn't have, but oh well. The hair has gone without a trim or cut for the full 18 months. I'm not planning on cutting anytime soon. My goal right now is to reach 2 years and then see from there. As always, thanks for the constant support and inspiration!!

Your hair is coming along quite nicely. Letting it grow without trims is a good idea. You have wonderful color and texture. Hopefully you'll decide to go terminal with both your hair and beard. Would look great!

Re. your shorter beard, the good news about trimming off only a few inches is that at least it won't take too long to grow it back to its former glory. The same goes for hair on the head: a modest trim (even if regretted afterwards), is so much easier to recover from than when guys make the mistake of impulsively deciding to buzz everything all off.... and I speak from experience re. that -- even though I didn't go to the extreme of buzzing, back in Y2K I suddenly went from waist-length to traditional male short, an impulsive decision that I deeply regretted afterwards.
The important thing at least is that we learn from these mistakes, learning more about ourselves, too, in the process.

Your hair and beard look fantastic, Bearded Piper. The overtrim of your beard should grow back in about 6 months. You may want to grow that beard to 18 inches or more. (The longest strands in my beard are 17") How long are you going to grow your hair to? (Waist length would look good.)
