Today is the start of my new life. As you long term members probably already know, I have 3 addictions. Marijuana, Alcohol and Nicotine. When I went there I was a little shy, as I thought you had to be a down and out Junkie to go to NA. But was told that was not true. Just a desire to stop using Alcohol and Drugs. Already hanging out with a higher echolon of people is helping vs my using friends who only hang out with eachother because we use too.
I'm coming up on 13 months and celebrated 12 months July 23rd.
I salute you Kenneth for taking this necessary step in ridding yourself of these addictions.Obviously once they affect your day to day life something needs to be done.Once you've kicked these habits you'll notice how much more enjoyable life is my friend.Keep us updated when you have time.Cheers

Congratulations!
Addiction can be very difficult to overcome. I quit smoking 10 years ago and still have cravings from time to time. I gave up alcohol less than a year ago and it's still a day-to-day struggle. I'm doing it on my own, so I don't have the support network that you do, but I'm determined to stay sober so I can have a better relationship with my wife and kids. It sounds like you have a good group of people to help you through this tough time. I hope all goes well. Just remember, you are not alone. Don't give up!
