Hi Guys.
My name is Vincent, 23 and a half yrs old. I have been lurking on the mlhh board for a long time. Always a pleasure to see those long beautiful manes, and a positive stimulating for being a long hair man.
A little story of my long hair Journey:
I'd had long hair from my 17th birthday to the age of, well i think it was a few month before i went 21. Due a little pressure in that period i decided to put the scissor in my hair. I went from way over shoulder length to a minimal over the ear haircut. I regretted my choice a few weeks later.
I wanted to go strong again, and i setted up a regimen for my self. A daily intake and regimen of brewers yeast, multi vitamin, zinc, a natural shampoo, and once or twice a week a nettle tea hair rinse. The mlhh has been a very positive teacher for me to push through the negative barricade that is called "pressure or stress". The psychological effect just by seeing great long hair manes and stories of other long hair growers. Just in one word, beautiful!
I'm happy, i'm going strong, i'm a longhair again, and i want to thank everyone of the Mlhh.
A smile from me to look on a new time, and for a great thing that is called the Men's Long Hair Hyperboard!!!
Peace.
Welcome to the MLHH Vincent:)
It's always refreshing to read posts such as this from guys like you.It reminds me of what a valuable service this board provides:)Even though you caved to the pressure, sometimes one needs that to realize how much they really loved their longhair.I think you learned that rather quickly and now your back on the way to a glorious mane. You young guys are lucky to have the resources today in support of longhair on men as that wasn't the case when I first grew my hair out.It all came from within and I endured through the years and even decades to preserve it:)Please do stick with us and enjoy the journey my friend.Have a great weekend.Cheers

Greetings PickwickHippy. I am happy to see that MLHH has helped you in growing out your mane. I started growing my hair in 1992 and had no idea how to proceed. My hair did not come with an owner's manual and I was on my own. MLHH came into existance in 1997 but I did not discover it until 2003. Since 2003, I have gotten a lot of good advice here. Stick around, I am sure that MLHH will be of great help for all your longhair needs.
Scott
Welcome - great hair, keep on growing and enjoying.
Wow Vencient You have great looking hair like the length and the fact you wear it down long and lose. Tom(Hairboy)
Hey Vincent,
It's great to hear such great enthusiasm coming from a guy about long hair, especially when long hair can be a lightning rod issue in today's corporate-molded world :p . It's very obvious that you're just as passionate about long hair as we are, so a big welcome here to the board ^_^ !!!
From looking at your older photo, it looks like you had really great hair back before you chopped it all off :o ! The way it shaped around your face (and you have the right face for long hair, too), it's kind'a too bad :/ ... but no big deal, though ^_~ , from that complex regime, I bet you'll have no problem at all growing it all out again :p !
So looking forward to future updates, great looking hair and once again welcome to mlhh :D !
Sincerely,
Eric
Thank you all for the up-beating comments.
The interest to grow my hair was when i went fifteen and discovered the band Van Halen. I bought the New Haven '86 concert on dvd. It was awesome! In that period i grow my hair to a middle long style. When i went seventeen i wanted my hair longer. I was old and wise enough to make my own decisions about my hair. My parents where not always happy about it.
When i finished my Vocational education on the age of 19, i had a job in the IT sector. I began with the maintenance of computer systems, always with allot pleasure. But after a period of time my chef provided me more difficult jobs. He wanted me to write server implementation plans through a virtual private network for schiphol-airport. I said in a personal conversation to him that it would be a wise decision to gave the job to someone else, but he thought that wasn't necessary. He believed in my expertise, but i didn't had allot of experience in this kind of work. So after a month of hard work and late night overlabour i actually finished it, but the job could have been done in two weeks. That was the first time i experienced pressure. I hate to name the word stress.
I had a difficult job, my two year relationship with my girlfriend ended, and so on and so on.
In that period i went psychological a little bit crazy. I couldn't handle work, couldn't handle my feelings, and i thought actually i was beginning to hate my self. Depressed is a big word, but it was difficult. So i was searching for a new me, and the first decision was to cut my long hair. I saw my long hair as a barricade. Later in time i climbed out of that big black hole, and i said to my self in the mirror, my god... what are you doing? And that moment made allot of things clear in my head.
The feeling, the stories, and seeing other great manes on Mlhh were a very positive inspiration for me to go through and grow my hair long again.
I'm happy now. A happy Pickwick tea drinking Hippy who enjoys his long hair as much as everyone do on the Mlhh.
Above a picture of me when i was 19.
Peace.
Vincent,
I know what you mean, I've been there to that dark place before about ten or so years ago where there seems to be not a hope in the world. A loss of a love, a loss of direction in life, a loss of self confidence... all of those things can be nasty - they all came down on me and hit me hard. The only thing that dug me out of that hole was finding my a direction in life - my wife. Man, if it wasn't for her, who knows @o@ ???
A good lesson in life, as Confucius may have said once: Don't put all of your eggs in one basket... not everyday is a good hair day ^_~ . So while you grow out your hair, if you haven't already, be diverse, keep looking and you never know what might come your way next ;) !
Good luck wherever life may lead to next ^_^ !
Sincerely,
Eric

With longer hair.
Hi Vincent,
Your hair in this photo looks absolutely fantastic! I can only hope mine will look as good as yours when I get that length. I can't wait-although the journey is certainly more than half the fun. Take care of yourself and your wonderful hair and I look forward to your future updates!
Ted
Thank you for your response Ted! This was my length before I'd decide to get an just over the ear hair cut. Now 1,5 year later i'm half at the lengt i'd had, but i'm on the good road :) You also take good care of your self, and enjoy your long hair journey!
Vincent
Hi again, Vincent. You have great progress for 1.5 years. I just love the color and texture of your hair! Yes, you are on the good road back to your former length. Please take good of yourself and your hair! Please keep posting update photos!
Ted
Hi Vincent (nice name!)
Good to hear that you got out of a difficult period in your life. Everyone goes through hard periods sometimes, but after that it's good to enjoy your life again :)
Your hair already looks good, and will look even better at you old length or longer!
