Well, tomorrow is the registration day of my senior year at school. One more year, and then I'm out of this barbershop.
Mom just bought me a jacket, and I'm going to sew in stiffeners into the collar. It'll work well enough to keep my hair hidden.
And here is a picture of me at MIT... I went there for college visits, I really want to go back to study CS there. Do I look sharply dressed for my ivy interviews?
Also, in between the time that I uploaded the pic below (or above, whatever it is) and when I wrote this message, there was already 1 "cut your hair" comment on that pic. On the other hand, I did get one like. It's my prof pic for sure, but still... honestly?
Greetings .mkl,
I think your hair looks fantastic and its a shame you are receiving flak over what is really your own personal business.I will never understand people being so "stuck up"on others peoples vanity. What is it to them anyway? So I do hope you'll continue to let you hair grow as your type of hair looks so awesome when really long especially with your hair color:)
Good luck with your interviews btw.You look well dressed in my eyes but who knows how these administrators will view it.You look very relaxed in your casual attire my friend:)Thank you for taking the time to post your pic as I don't recall you ever doing one in the past.Have a great day and my best to ya;)Cheers

Oh, don't even dare to listen to those "get a haircut"-people! Your hair looks great and it suits you really much! I read your story earlier, and now yeah, I really hope you'll be succesfull in saving your hair despite the ideas of people from your surroundings.
Hi .mkl. Your hair is looking fabulous. I surely wouldn't listen to those naysayers. It's your hair and your right to grow it as you see fit. I hope you do go to MIT and study what you desire. You never know, maybe you can be like Tom Scholz of the rock band Boston. He holds a Master's degree in mechanical engineering from MIT.
Enjoy growing your hair and may the critics leave you alone. I wish you much success in your studies!
Ted
As someone who went to college near MIT at a competing college
I would have to say do not cut any of that lovely hair. There are many long haired guys at MIT. MiT is in Cambridge Massachutts and Cambridge is the headquarters for many
a long haired guy.
Looks great, looks like you take care of it real well. I'd guess you'll probably get no flak about your hair in college - I had hair just about your length I think for my entire undergrad schooling, don't think I ever got a single comment. Especially if you're going into CS, long hair seems to real common and accepted in the workplace.
Never interviewed for college, but I'd err on the side of formal vs. casual.
