When I grew my hair in 2008 it was really thick and wavy with curly ends. Now in 2012 it's pin straight and very fine, how does hair texture change that much in just 36mo?
The first question I would have to ask is are you on some new
medication? Some prescription drugs can be bad for your hair.
When you get prescriptions read those side effects carefully.
I just got diagnosed with IBS so yeah I've had a cocktail of different scripts lately. Also my Dr said I was extremely defficiant in Vitamins D and K if that makes a difference.
Hi again, Mike. As a dialysis patient with polycystic kidney disease I send you success in combatting your IBS. And yes, I can sympathize with the "cocktail" of scripts. I was happy this past week when the doc informed me my heart was okay so I could be put on the kidney transplant list. May you have good health my longhaired friend:).

My mother blames it on pregnancy, thus blaming it on me. I've been hearing about it for half a century. Also how I drove her to drink and smoke.
Probably not applicable to your case, but I agree with the idea of getting a check-up to see if you've got something hormonal going on. My hair has gotten finer and straighter, but it took decades.
Hair texture and color can change over time. When I was younger I had blond hair, now it's a lot darker. My hair used to be straight, now it has a lot of waves. So nothing to worry about.
My hair has gotten somewhat finer and also lost some of it's wave as I have gotten older. I would just be glad you don't have any balding. That would be a bad thing! Keep it growing!

I think it's normal and happens to most people. When I first grew my hair out 3 years ago, it poofed up for the first 12-15 months and was very curly thick and coarse. Now it's being regrown and it's at 13 months. It's straight and less coarse, but the bottom/sides and thick and curl/wave.
