An enlightened approach which demonstrates that slavish devotion to short hair is totally unnecessary for an effective army.

I saw a video on TVOntario about the Danish army contingent in Afghanistan. Seeing those very rough-n-tough guys in action, I concluded they're very disciplined and coherent. One does not mess with them except at one's peril. The long hair-n-beards may have a "Samson" effect.
