I got my hair braided by a proffesional about 2 weeks ago and I'm just wondering how long would you reckon it's safe to keep them in? Also what might happen to my hair if I don't take them out before then. Thanks.
It depends on your ethnicity. For white guys like myself they start to unravel after about two weeks. Guys with african hair can keep them in for about a month. You can have them re-tightened professionally. When you take them out, give yourself as much time as it took to put them in and unravel from the bottom only to avoid damage.
I'm a middle-aged Irish migrant to the Philadelphia area and I get mine done each year for the basketball playoffs and a few other occasions. My 40 seconds of fame was appearing on Sports center last Xmas when I was in LA for a game against the Clippers. I think the comment was 'Those crazy Sixers fans can be found anywhere'
