Well here I am out west again visiting the great city of San Francisco. It's been a great time so far attending a party of longhairs this past weekend, enjoying a unique street fair, and just soaking up life in the city.Pictured here is a birds eye view above Delores Park showing some of the city scape as the "fog monster" starts rolling in late afternoon.Thankfully it stayed sunny on my side of the city until it was time to return to home base down the coast through the pea soup fog!More pics to follow as meetups are on tap:)Now back to my regularly scheduled vacation!Cheers....

As I was leaving the city I had the pleasure of driving up,then down some quite steep roads. In this pic it felt as if I was going to fall onto the dashboard of the car during this decline but stayed put thanks to the seat belt:)LOL
Mârk
Ok, couldn't resist posting this pic of some cheerful longhairs:)Bet you can guess who our friend on the left is.
Mârk
Mark,
I'll "guess" 'em both. Absalom(Scott) and Johnny!
Two great smiles!
peace, jonalbear
Very good JB as your getting your gold star for that assignment { * } lol

That's 22nd Street, and the cross street at the intersection with the two arrows is Church Street. The rail line running through that intersection is the J Church line. This block of 22nd Street is San Francisco's steepest street.
22nd Street is best savored by putting an out of town friend in the front seat of the car with you and then not telling him what is coming up as you approach the photographed section from the uphill (west) side. The plunge downhill is abrupt, so he will not see what is coming. Screams can be expected!
It was great meeting up with the gang today. Looking forward to more pictures!
Bill
Hi Bill,
I have to you credit with your knowledge of the city! Obviously living there for as long as you have makes it possible to learn every square inch:) I probably can't even say that for my own home town being its nowhere near as interesting as SF.
It was great meeting you yesterday but sorry you had to depart the group early.Maybe we can do a makeup?I know Ken already sent the request for that:)
I'll certainly enjoy my last few days here and will miss the area when I have to leave again but know "I'll be back!"lol.

If any ever left their heart in San Francisco.....it is you.
You might as well move and get it over with !! giggle
Once again, I missed you by a week.....I had business in Sacramento last week.....sigh. Maybe next year we get another visit in.
Glad you are having a good time.
Take Care my friend
Walter

Hi Walter,
Ha ha, yea it seems I'm here so much I might as well move in:) It's fascinating the way the fog rolls in at the end of the day going from bright and sunny to living in a cloud! At least the part of town I was in wasn't affected before I left that day but I drove into it when heading back down the coast.
That's too bad we just missed each other again but I'll be back as the saying goes;)Hope all is well with you my friend.Cheers

Is that something unique to San Francisco? I didn't noitce any
fog when I was in LA. Although it was bloody hot and not alot
of places had air conditioning or working air conditioning.
As someone who wears shorts all year 'round I don't handle the
hest well.
Both are in 2 different "Climates" so to speak and are seperated by hundreds of miles apart. SF closer related to the Pacific NW. in many ways. LA. is inclined to be more like "Desert type heat" and lots of hot dry sun.
Hi Mark,
That is awesome that you have this opportunity to visit San Francisco, and get together with some of our fellow members from the hyperboard. These are great photos, and I hope you have a wonderful time. Hopefully, one of these days, I will make that trip!
Take care, and safe travels,
David
Hi David,
Thanks for the kind words and I have to say you "must" make the effort to visit this beautiful area:)You certainly won't be disappointed. I had a great meetup yesterday with fellow members as that's always a treat.Oh well time to continue my vacation so take care my friend:) Cheers

Hey Mark! :-)
How wonderful that you are back out here again. Isn't it great! And how beautiful seeing Delores Park among some of the other fastastic sights that abound in SF. I am really happy for you that you were able to take this trip. Well, no need to flip a coin about where the best place to live is. And, all of the long hairs here too that are so friendly and gracious always.
I know well of that fog in the distance. We get it here too like about from the end of Nov. to almost the end of March. (It kinda rolls in around these parts at that time, but can't seem to hardly ever roll out.)
Ever consider reversing things? Make SF your full time all year residense and now and then take a vacation back to the E. Coast, that is, if you can stand to leave.
Have fun and please have a cup of "Duarts Chowder" for me if you happen to go down the coast a bit to Pescadero. (Probably about a 45 minute drive I would guess.)
Have fun Mark! :-)
Justin~
I've never had been there or had their chowder but as someone who
went to college in the Boston area if you want real clam chowder you need to visit New England. Real chowder is made with milk
and is so thick you spoon will stand up in it.
Even though I live in Albany Manhattan Clam Chowder is not real
chowder.
I have had Chowder many a time in Boston all the many years I lived on the E. Coast. Duarts is every bit as good. Bet you may not know this, but the REAL Yankee Chowder is a very clear broth. The people along the coast (RI., CT. itc.) probably still make it this way. This kind gives you the greatest "Clam fix" of all.
Hey Justin~
Thanks for that great response as I would love to do that reversal you mentioned making the NYC area my short vacation stop and here the permanent residence:) If the economy gets that smiley face someday it's better apt to happen.
The fog has been in full swing on this trip during the evenings when it spills off the ocean onto the coastal areas and city itself. And talk about free air conditioning!lol.Good thing I know to bring jackets along.
Haven't gone down to Duarte's yet so we'll see if I can fit that in.I'll certainly think of you if that happens;)Thanks so much for your response as you are a great friend:)cheers

Hey Mark,
Great pic of Dolores Park and the fog thankfully to the West (unlike yesterday when we were at Baker Beach and the fog was very much in-our-face - LOL)!
I hope to upload some of my pics from yesterday, sometime today... AND hopefully also get my laundry done sometime today (LOL).... Hmmm, priorities priorities priorities!
Later, 'gator!
- Ken
Hey Ken,
I know the fog didn't cooperate for our beach photo op but still it was a fun time meeting the guys:) Delores Park looked spectacular that day and was quite mild and comfortable to be around. What fun it is to outrun the fog of SF as it would make a great horror flick it seems;)Anyway do get that laundry done and hopefully we can get together one more time:)Cheers

I managed to catch the end of the afternoon, revisiting the Dahlia Garden in Golden Gate Park...
We finished the evening with a visit to Ebisu...that was very nice...amazing food and I got to be a pusher.
There was long lichen blowing in the breeze (or icy blast)...
Oh, yes, Ken kindly took some pictures for me!
It was great to meet you Trolleypup as my "live" mlhh meetup list is ever growing:)Knowing I'll never achieve hair as amazing as yours I'll just have to be happy with what I have attained. At least its nice to know a mane like yours has to be inspiration for future longhaired guys. Also thank you so much for the opportunity to experience a meal I have never tried before and your generosity in treating me:)Hope to see you again on future trips to your fair city.Cheers
