Those people are probably jealous as hell of your hair. When people find out I'm gay (a big 120+kg guy with past shoulder length hair) they say "what, you? No way.......".
All it makes you is someone with some very awesome red hair!

I know what you're talking about.
Straight men think I'm gay because of my long hair while gay men think I'm straight because of my long hair, or that I have "internalized" homophobia or trying to be "heteronormative". Very frustrating that some gay men can so narrow-minded.
And it's not just hair. They make the same sorts of judgements based on my taste in music (no Gaga or Britney in my collection) or movies (I'll pick Deliverance over Rent any day) or TV.

Welcome to MLHH. Your hair looks great. Hair color / length has nothing to do with being gay or straight. The photo came out very well. You had enough light in that room at 4:35 PM to not need a flash.

Most people who make stupid remarks about "looking gay" know basically nothing about gay people. While you can characterize people across the board, most gay males I've known tend to prefer the look of a more stereotypical male-- i.e. with short hair. It makes sense if think about. That said, I believe we have a long haired gay or two on this forum from time to time. My guess, though, would be that, percentage-wise, long hair is much scarcer among gays than among straight men.
BTW, your hair looks fantastic.

Wow, your hair is very healthy-looking and beautiful! I definitely think long red hair that is well-cared for is sexy on any gender.
A lot of people think I "look gay" as well, and used to think so even when my hair was short. I believe this judgement has more to do with having a slender body than with the length of your hair. Because so many in the gay community pride themselves on their slender phisiques, it causes people to assume that thin guys who carry themselves with confidence must be gay.
I would tend to agree with your assessment that it's more the slim physique than the longhair which leads people to draw the gay conclusion.Likely also if they wear tight clothing to establish the fact one is very thin.Of course that's an assumption just like the long hair thing.Cheers
