My g/friend went thru a practice run for my Halloween transformation yesterday - and here's the result. My "costume" is a black biker jacket, black skeleton T-shirt and shiny black PVC skinny jeans with an enormous studded belt and black boots. No change from the usual really for me! :)
No scissors were harmed in this transformation. No hairs were cut!
It was purely a matter of straightening my naturally wavy hair (not something I'd normally do but a once-off for this), back-combing and spraying.
A sort of Heath Ledger goes Frank-N-Furter goes Goth!
Damon
Hello Damon,
That is a total transformation into sheer terror! The hairstyle from hell. Have you seriously thought about applying for casual work as a Zombie film extra?
Cheers,
Duncan
Haha! That's the whole idea! I take that as a compliment! :)
Hey, cool idea! I could do with the money!

Wow Damon! That is a wonderful Halloween look for you. You are a natural for this type of costume. I believe Duncan is right on point with what he said. Hope your Halloween is happy and safe!
Take care, Ted
Whoa! That is a scary transformation! I hope its not too
difficult to get your hair untangled again.
Just curious where do you get your skinny PVC jeans?
Amazingly, despite it looking literally like a bird's nest (the effect we were going for), my hair got only slightly tangled. I lost one or two tiny knots but hey, it grows back! One wash and comb - and it's all back to its usual long wavy self again. ;)
The PVC skinny jeans (pic of me in them attached) are the Phaze brand and I bought them from a local shop selling goth clothing about a week ago. You can get them online too.
My g/friend was a bit shy about me wearing them in public at first and asked me not to - which of course has the opposite effect on me. The more someone asks me not to do something, the more likely I am to do it! So I wore them round to her place and we did our shopping at Tesco's and round town before going on to a few bars. Then walked her to work in them the following morning. She's got used to me in them now! :)
Surprisingly, I've worn them a few times and they are very comfy. They are not sweaty at all. Of course it may be very different in a crowded club during the summer!
Damon
-------------------------------------------
I tried on some skinny jeans, they don't look good on me.
In the 70s and early 80s I could wear them, now that i've put on
some weight since my college years I can't do skinny jeans.
Back in college, I weighed 110 pounds, now it's more like 160
pounds. But then that kind of thing happens when you become
58 years old.
So when I wear cut off shorts it's the regular cut jeans, not the
skinny jeans. (BTW, I almost never wore shorts, it wasn't until
about the year 2002 that I started wearing them all the time.)
So if I want to wear skinny jeans the abs have to be trimmed big time. (My weight is already at an ideal point.)
I personally hate shorts with a passion! At 160 lbs you must still be pretty slim. Just trim your abs and go for the skinnies! They look and feel great.
I also hate gyms but my stomach is flat anyway so I guess I'm lucky.
Damon
----------------------------------
For many years I hated wearing shorts even during the summer.
In 2002 I started lifting weights at the Y which is when I started
wearing shorts again. Now I pretty much wear shorts all the time
all year 'round. I've now been doing that for ten years now. Even in winter.
Even with all the exercise, weight training, etc. i've never
been able to trim the abs.
For my height i'm now at my ideal weight, when I was at 110
pounds in college it was far below my ideal weight.
Hey Damon,
Wow, I like those jeans as they look cool all shiny like that!lol.I don't own any PVC jeans but was thinking of leather ones when I was in NYC a week or so ago. They had nice looking ones at the Diesel Store on 14th Street but the $600 price tag was a bit steep at the moment. When I was out in California last month I picked up a pair of Japrag skinny jeans in the Castro section of SF.I thought they were so cool looking and they fit like a glove but were very comfortable. Here is a pic of me wearing them during a hike I took with our own Scott!Cheers

I have a pair of leather pants (not skinny) but I never wear them
anymore. I like them but the cost of cleaning them was much too
expensive. I also have a leather coat too but the same
applies to that too.
It's too bad it ocsts that much to clean them, they would look
great with long hair.
Even though I don't own leather jeans I do have leather jackets but have never had them cleaned.I would think you could buy leather conditioner and do it yourself instead of paying big $ having it done professionally.Still, unless I'm in a dirty environment my jackets don't get that dirty to require frequent cleaning. Here I am wearing one of my jackets which I bought in LA back in the early 90s.Cheers
Mârk
Exactly Mark, I never have my leather professionally cleaned but do keep it in good shape with conditioners. BTW--Looking great in the Black leather coat, blue jeans and Henna!

Doesn't the leather start to smell after a while? Even if you're not in a dirty environment wouldn't the leather coat
pick up smells from sweat, cigarette smoke, etc.?
After all one of the reasons I wear shorts all year 'round is
it may be ten below zero outside in the middle of winter but if
you go into an office/store/etc. it's roasting in there with temperatures in the 70s or 80s. I don't handle the heat well and that goes for the summer as well as the winter when you
go indoors and a store/or office has it 80+ degrees inside. And having a winter coat on makes it worse.
Also I tend to bloody noees in the winter when it gets too
warm and my nose gets too dry.
Before they banned smoking in public places I would go to rock clubs and it was a given I'd reek of cigarette smoke when I left the place at the end of the night.Because of that I'd never wear my nicest cloths or leather jacket at these places. It's amazing how stunk up I'd get from a few hours in that environment.Thankfully that isn't the case anymore.
I've never experienced my leather jackets smelling bad after wearing them untreated for some time. After all they don't come in direct contact with my body since I have other clothes on underneath. However that's not the case with leather jeans but since I don't own any I can't say for certain.
I do wear shorts when its warm but frankly once it drops into the 60s I just plain get cold and wear pants.I really feel the cold negatively more than the heat.I know everyone is different but I just prefer it warm.
Mârk
Even though smoking is prohibited in public places I still encounter lots of smokers and end up stinking of cigarettes.
One of those places is the place where i've worked for 26 years.
I still find sweat coming through the clothes under jacket.
(Espeically when you go into offices/stores that are on the warm side.)
I hate the warm, I prefeer temperatures in the 60s and below.
I like being able to walk a good distance without getting soaked in sweat. So my ideal temperature is in the 60s or lower.
I would also mention that I often shovel snow in shorts. After a few minutes of shoveling snow i'm toasty warm and all sweaty.
Once you step outside and start shoveling snow it doesn't take
long to get very warm. Even on the coldest days.
But then here in upstate New York we get alot of snow most years.
With me I hardly sweat at all even on the hottest summer days.At best my underarms would get wet but really that's all and that's if I'm exerting myself. It's true that doing something like snow shoveling provides an instant warm up but still I need to be covered up.I know what you mean as I have a friend who sweats up a storm in hot weather so guess I'm an oddity but I'm fine with that:)Cheers

Hey Damon,
Have to say that hair transformation is kinda scary but as long as it can be undone all is well my friend:)You should draw a lot of attention with that getup so enjoy the moment and be sure to save pictures of this look.Imagine when you get older if this look comes back for real!Yikes!!!!LOL.Cheers
Mârk
Damon,
