My wife and I were in church service yesterday morning. We've been in this congregation less than a year now and are really feeling at home there. It's a small group (around 100) and it's really easy to make new friends, which I really appreciate. Yesterday before services started, I was in a conversation with a friend who's become a good buddy of mine and he came out and told me that he'd been jealous of my hair since the first time Pam and I came there almost a year ago. He's about six years older than me and has very little hair to speak of. My hair has come up in conversation a lot there recently, and almost always in a good way. Really glad everybody is so open to just let people be who they are.
That is a good thing! You had nice hair.

Your hair looks great, Steve. My hair is about twice as long as anyone else at the church that I attend. The young children seem to notice it the most. It reaches my knees. I have had mostly positive reactions to my hair, save for one elderly woman who thought I should cut it.

I think you're more likely to get compliments if a) you're slightly older and b) you have hair that reaches beyond your shoulders.
It always makes me smile, but I'm still braced for criticism and suggestions that I should cut it.
About a week ago, I was just getting out of my car and was about to go into a shop when the woman who had parked in the space next to me squealed and said, "Your hair is gorgeous!" It made my day.
I was thinking along those exact same lines!
And your hair IS gorgeous. Anyone who wants you to cut it clearly needs to open their minds a little :)
Such a nice feeling. Especially when it is so obviously an outburst and honest.
