Hi guys,
I bought a pack of hair ties to break a $20, and tried putting one on. I ended up snapping the first one, and also the second one too. The third one just slipped off. Maybe it was too loose, but I couldn't pull it any tighter because I already broke the first two and I knew it wouldn't hold out.
I have a relatively thick ponytail (just over 4 inches circumference... on the thicker side i believe), so I'm wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for larger ties that don't snap and could be pulled back quite tightly. The only condition is that they have to be unadorned black with no metal on them.
Can you guys take a picture of the package so I know what to buy the next time I go to the store?
Thanks
i use scunci ties, "no damage" "no metal parts"
Available at many stores.
I've never broken one, they hold well without damage to the hair.
Hi .mkl - here is a foto of ALL the restraints I've used in my 3.5 year long-hair journey - no metal to be seen: ( except for one of the the head-bands ) ... I understand the need & want for 'masculine' restraints - as I have no desire to be in any way feminine - but sometimes a feminizing effect may occur = such as in head-band use ... I'm just hoping my beard & my cowboy walk will counter-act that ... hehehe cheers CEM. :))
Thanks!
I'd just wanted to see what I should buy from CVS. My female friends obviously aren't very helpful in this regard
My problem isn't with looking feminine; I just don't want to attract *too* much attention by wearing, say, a bunny-rabbit headband =P
bwaahehahehahehehahe = 2 funny cheers & have a great day CEM. ::))
I would mention that at the ripe old age of 58 I don't care
what other people think. I did when I was much younger but
now I only care about what I think and desire.
I'm 5'8" and weigh 160 pounds so to a certain extent I do
look somewhat femine. I have a moustache and for many years
I had a beard but which helped. I don't have the beard now
but I do have the moustache, and have hairy legs, lots of
chest hair but i'm not really masculine looking. I'd probably
have to be more than a foot and half taller, a couple hundred
pounds more to really look masculine.
Still trying to maintain my "girlish" figure! As the years pass, it gets harder and harder! Too bad I love good food so much and live at an epicenter of same.
I'm OK with not being bulky or burly...I'll wear clothes that flatter the fact that I still have a figure, and if someone doesn't like that, well that is THEIR damned problem!
As for attracting too much attention...at least here, the extra attention I received for wearing stereotypically feminine styles (hairtoys with sparklies, clothes colors, hair styles/length)...was divided into negative from people I wouldn't want to spend time (being seen) with, and positive from either my target audience or neutral parties.
I highly suggest scrunchies.
They might be called something else but I'm quite certain that's what they're called...unfortunately I haven't got a picture but they're the thicker ones that are often made of a different material...poor description, sorry.
I always use(d) them on my hair and I never broke one. They can withstand almost anything and despite being larger than regular hair ties, they last way longer. Depending on how large you end up going, they either fit very well on your wrist (not constricting like regular hair ties have a tendency to do) or if you go very large, they might just look silly on your wrist.
Good luck!
