  It has now been 3 years, I am at 18" and now I think I can say I have long hair. I quit using silicones and sulfates 3 months ago doing the "Curly Girl Method", I am really happy with the results, in the pictures this is second day hair, i'ts alot more curly the first day. I tried stopping sulfates before but they always left my hair greasy because silicones won't come out unless you use sulfates, I did not know that, so if you have curly or wavy hair you should give it a try, curly hair is more dry than straight hair so it needs more moisture, you wash with a light conditioner, rinse, then a thick creamy conditioner, you just have to shampoo one last time before you start the program, oh and you cant use normal towels anymore, they dry out hair too, air dry or microfiber. Silicone ingredients end with -cone, -conol, or -xane.

    Wanted to thank you for the very informative post. Your hair is looking wonderful for three years! Your beard is also great looking! The color and texture of your hair and beard are very nice. I couldn't grow a beard or moustache to save my life! So I just shave everything off. I look forward to your future updates. Keep it growin' and flowin'.

    Damn it, the hair looks just awesome! Love everything about it - starting with curls, color and finishing with length. The beard is cool too :)

    Ah, it's pity I have a straight and thin hair, wish I had mane similar to yours.

    That is one STUNNING-looking mane you have there, Daniel -- I love love love the color, love love love the curliness, and I also want to add that your beard is totally AWESOME as well (not to also mention got a kick out of your goofy expression in the 3rd pic, too)!!!!

    Keep up with the good "work", my friend, you have already proven yourself to be an excellent hair farmer so-far -- so hope you continue to even greater and longer lengths in the future...

    And also: great advise, I agree with your hair care comments. i use organic non-silicone shampoos & conditioner as well, followed by applying beneficial oil into my hair ends (currently using olive oil; but have used coconut oil in the past as well).
