I've noticed some guys on this list who live in Israel and will end up in the army in the coming years. I've heard from
some of my jewish friends that their relatives have received
emergency inducton orders in the aftermath of the gaza violence. (I should mention that I'm jewish.)
Anyone on this site effected? If so I wish you luck. It's a scary time tensions are very high.
and the connection between this post and hair - none?
This is quite unnecessary - we really should avoid politics here.
And like the post below, we shouldn't discuss politics over here.
You just have to read between the lines. It's not a political argument, he's just saying it's scary, and it is. Also any holder of an Israeli passport getting drafted would have to get a haircut. I think that is very relevant and right on topic.
Darn, I wish people would think a little more before passing judgement.
I can't really say it's something 'scary', I guess, I mean, I've known that many years ago so I guess I can say I'm past the sadness phase :P

That is not why this was posted. I recall the OP's rant about the Munich incident not be marked at this summer's Olympic Games.
The intent was entirely political and had this been intended he would surely have said so.
Let's keep politics away from here as others have agreed.
I recall the thread you're referring to, however I still don't see a shade of political tone in this one. I understand how we should keep religious and political opinions to ourselves in a place like this for the sake of the board (we have had big fights over far less controversial matters, myself included), I entirely agree with that. However I must insist, all I read was:
- I know some Israeli guys here
- Families in Israel have received induction orders
- There has been violence (no judgement or taking sides)
- Asking if someone has been affected (by violence, or induction)
- He mentions being Jewish... well I'm Catholic, sue me (one thing is not debating, but if I can't say I'm Catholic and he can't say he's Jewish then I really don't know what the hell is going on)
- Tensions are high (there are freaking troops at their border)
- Finally he says it's scary (well... as much as you'd like to think the scariest thing should be clippers, the possibility of war is scary too).
All of those things are facts, not opinions.
If I say I had a trim the day Obama got reelected, are you going to tell me I'm making it political too?
I apologize for the rant, but your fight for political correctness just turned very politically incorrect and a little rude.
Hi Giacco and the others in this thread,
Normally OT threads aren't allowed but with the exception of registered members that rule can be bent. After all it would get very boring after awhile if all we ever talked about was shampoo, conditioner, and hair restraints.I'm the first to agree I hate political discussions as that seemed to be the rule over on FB and as far as I'm concerned they can have it over there. In the case of this thread I personally was not offended by what was written as it certainly could have delved more into the political arena. Also being drafted and getting forced haircuts is right on topic. What I'm saying is getting OT at times allows the users to learn more about the people who post here and I've made many friends because of the mlhh:)I'm proud to say I've personally met many of them as well and it has been a fulfilling experience for me.So I hope this clears the air about this as I'm trying to explain as best as possible.Hope everyone has a great weekend and be safe out there my friends:)Cheers
