Here's my 22nd month update video of my longhair journey I've just uploaded today... Questions & comments welcome :))
22 Month Update
Welcome to the mlhh Mr.DP Moonchild:)I loved your introductory video as it was very well done and sure saved a lot of typing for you!LOL.It reminded me of how badly I needed a new computer as the video part was kinda klunky even though the audio was fine.New laptop is on its way:)As for your hair it sorta up to you how you'd like to wear it outside the home.My hair is around waist length, so longer than yours, but I still need to have it tied back in some fashion so as to avoid having a tangled mess at the end of the day.My hair is dead straight, will tangle easily, but I have to restrain it or pay the consequences. At home of course I'll leave it loose:)I'm glad you are trying longhair again and realize you have to be your own cheerleader since most around you won't support your longhair desire.Thankfully you'll get all the support you need here my friend so please do keep us posted.Mega Cheers!

Thanks a lot Mark.. I'd prefer not to tie it up but I don't think I'm quite there yet. Fingers crossed it will start looking good soon :) Thanks for the warm welcome & support brother!

Very nice and well said!
Hey, thanks John, much appreciated! :)
Hi David,
I just watched your video and I enjoyed it very much! I am really liking your hair and think you should wear it down most of the time. I believe you might have some curl to your hair. But I also believe that your shoulders might be causing some of the curling. Your hair may be partially straight and wavy. However, I really like your hair and am very inspired by your video. Please don't cut your hair because of anybody's opinion etc. I also like your Led Zeppelin poster on the wall. I also think you resemble a young Jimmy Page. Love your accent by the way.
Take care, Ted
Young Jimmy Page
Hi Ted,
Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it!! and I think you could be right with the whole shoulder thing, they're just getting in the way at the moment.... I just have to wait it out for another couple of months. Oh I Love Led Zeppelin, you're a fan too?.... never heard that I resembled Jimmy Page before but that would be great! :) oh and I'm Irish so that's why my accent is weird.... Anyway thanks for getting in touch!!
Take care brother,
David
Your hair is looking good. Tips that can help a lot is after to comb it with a wood comb, if you want it all curly try some mousse after washing it, and to avoid frizz John Frieda has a wonderful antifrizz serum, just don't put to much to avoid looking greasy. Good progress!! hugs!
Hi Walter.... thanks for the advice. I haven't really used any products in my hair yet, I only use Aussie shampoo & conditioner but I'll look out for the John Frieda antifrizz.. I have Jojoba oil here but I never really used it either. Anyway thanks for your message, really appreciate it brother! Much love.
Great video mate. We've been growing our hair out the same length of time. You have a few inches on me I think. I plan on doing an update soon, but just been too busy. Thanks for sharing.
Wow 'Moon-Child' - ur hair is beautifully complex: ( all the curl & all the str8's ) - I understand the need & want to restrain it: ( as i do too ) - try going out with it loose now & then - no need for you to lack confidence: ( as u clearly have it & your hair is glorious ) ... baby steps, baby steps - u r the proud owner of a stunning head of hair - get out there 'n swish it around ... hehehe cheers CEM. :O)
Hi DP Moonchild,
It's great to see a fine longhair who's not in North America where most long hairs on this site are from. Are you from the Republic or Northern Ireland?
I studied in Salford, Lancashire in the 1970s and most long hairs then (and there were plenty back then) did not wear their hair in a pony tail but let it all down. In fact poly tails on men were unheard of then.
All the best with growing it out. Your hair looks great already and can only look better as it grows longer.
I'm in Malaysia and the peak long hair periods here were in the late 1960s and early to mid 70s, then again throughout most of the 1980s and early 1990s.
Still, long hair lives, despite its ebbs and flows.
