It's now been 3 years since I got the dreaded J-pop haircut, and I'm very pleased with my progress. I would have posted a before-and-after comparison, but all the photos of me with short hair are on my mobile and I have no idea how to get them onto a computer.
Hi Soren,
First of all great pic as I love the length and color of your hair:)What exactly do you do to your hair to achieve that color or is it actually natural? You may have mentioned it in the past but I don't remember. Also What on earth is a J-pop haircut?Whatever it is I'm happy your happy with it.Other than that hope all has been well with you and that your prepared for the holidays:)Cheers my friend.
Mark
ps: What I do to transfer photos from my mobile, which is an iphone btw, is to e mail them to myself.I can then open the e mails on my computer and file them that way.
Thanks, Mark. The colour is achieved through just bleach, no toner or dye afterwards. But when I first bleached my hair it wasn't this pale; it was bright lemon yellow, like a cartoon character's. Fortunately it gradually faded into this colour after about 4 months. I also found a really great shampoo called Ice Shine that nicely balances the colour of my hair and makes it look more natural.
A J-pop haircut is a heavily-layered shag cut with fringe which is longest in the back and sides (about chin length) and shorter on top. It's the most popular hairstyle among Japanese pop boy bands, which is why it's often called a J-pop cut. You can still see evidence of the layering at the bottom of my hair.
As for my phone, it's an old thing from the early 2000s that can't send emails, so I'd have to send the photos to a more advanced phone first, and I don't have one. But thanks for trying to help.
Hi Soren,
Wow, what an inspirational update! Your hair is fabulous both in length and color! I am certainly glad you got rid of the J-pop haircut! This looks so much better! I look forward to your future updates and hope to have hair long like yours one day! Keep it growin' and flowin' friend!
Ted
Thanks for the kind words, Ted. I agree that I look much better with longer hair, but unfortunately the girls in my area don't think so. But hey, I feel better about myself, and that's what matters most.
I'll be honest, I never really post any comments on pictures...but your hair is stunning! Very jealous!
Thanks for the compliment and for taking time to comment.
Your hair is looking good.
You don't say what kind of phone you have, a number of phones
have the ability to email a photo, or sync a photo from the phone
to the desktop/laptop
(BTW, if you have facebook or Google + they automatically upload
your photos for you from the phone. Just be careful what photos you upload and who allow to see them. If you do go this route you might want to read up on the Instagram fiasco.)
I have a Verizon LG flip-style phone from the early or mid 2000s. I've tried sending a photo to my email address from the phone and it didn't work, so I'm guessing photos can only be sent to other phones.
Looks great! Wonderful blonde color.

Your hair looks good. Do keep it growing.

Hi Soren,
Congrats. You have really lovely hair, straight and hangs so gracefully.
Regarding your Verizon LG flip-style phone circa 2000 or mid-2000, does it come with a cable which lets you transfer files to a PC. Most LG phones I know of have a USB port which works like a thumb drive when connected via cable to your PC. It it does not use USB, then it still should have a cable of some sort and the Windows software for file transfer.
Alternatively, does it support Bluetooth? If so, the could you not get a Bluetooth USB-dongle for your PC and transfer the pictures to it via Bluetooth?
I of course am familiar with LG's GSM and 3G models, though I understand that Verizon is a CDMA house, so your LG phone could be quite different from what I'm familiar with.
Anyway, I hope this helps.
Cheers
Charles
