Holidays are stressful and visiting family can be too. Last Christmas, 2011, my family had not seen me since starting to grow my hair. This pic was taken a year ago while visiting family during Christmas and New Years. I quickly became the center of attention which an INFP personality type would rather not have happen. For the most part it was fun and they all supported me and had fun with my hair. All the usual comments were said like you look like a girl, get a haircut hippy, it makes you look old and so on. I think they just needed to get acquainted with the real expression of myself. So I relaxed and just went with it. We all had a good time and a year later my longhair is not even an issue but a part of the family as its apart of me. Oh and beer helped a lot too. Happy Holidays!
Wynn,
I am happy to hear your hair is a non-issue now and part of the family. This photo is interesting. Not sure what to make of your expression. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Be safe.

I'm 58 years old. For many years I got lots of hassles about
my hair. As time passed, many of those relatives died off,
now i'm one of the oldest in the family, i'm that eccentric
uncle who has long hair. The hassles stopped when my age reached the mid 40s.
My family had a lot of relatives who were police, military,
and very much against long hair. I heard lots of stories about
how they felt about long haired protesters in the Viet Nam era.
But that is all in the past, now my hair is still long and
nobody in the family complains.
I should also mention that i've had long hair since 1964,
so the relatives had alot of years to get used to me being a long haired hippy. Some never did, others finally came around.
