The outcome of +8 years of saving. Quite a few haircuts as well, but never more than 10cm. I'm now considering shaving it off, mainly cause I'm tired of washing, drying, combing; you name it. A horrible idea?
Hi The Finn,
Oh my gosh! I think that would be a horrible idea for sure! Your hair is so nice looking and gives me much inspiration! I can understand what you're saying, but I would gladly wash my hair if it looked like that! I sure hope you don't shave it off, but I thank you for posting this inspirational pic! Hope you and your family have a safe and happy holiday season!
Ted
Well to answer you question I'll be honest and say yes,it's a horrible idea!I've had my hair long for over 25 years and not once felt the need to cut it off.I know there is the maintenance issue but I love my long hair enough to deal with it:) I can't speak for all but its my honest opinion being you asked.Anyway Merry Christmas and hope you decide differently.Cheers

IMHO that is a bad idea. Your hair is so great looking it would
be shame to shave it off.
That having been said though, ultimately it is your hair and your
decision.
For me washing and combing don't take very long to do. I let it air dry so the most time cosuming part is the finger combing to
get rid of the tangles.
all those years in taking pride in growing your hair only to see it fall to the floor? granted, it is your hair but, if you do shave it and then want to grow it long again, are you willing to wait for it to get this long again. it can still be long if you cut it to the shoulders. long, but shorter at the same time. you can also try putting it in a ponytail when you wash it. i always do, and mine never tangles.

Your hair looks great. Why cut it? Mid back like you have is easy. Mine is knee length.
Scott
Well, a bit extreme perhaps. Why not trim to shoulder length and see how how you like it? You can still tie it back and it wouldn't take as long to grow back to your previous length. It takes a long time to grow, only seconds to cut

Andy
I totally agree with what others have said. Why go from one extreme to the other? Maybe try it at shoulder-length for a while. That way, it takes less time to grow it back longer if you change your mind.

Hi all and thanks for all the answers!
You all made me rethink this once more and I decided that I'll first get a proper trim (~15 cm) and then see how the tangling issue improves. Maybe I'll even consider the shoulder length option, although I've always figured that the day when I no longer want my midback hair, I'll shave it all off (I'm a "all or nothing person" concerning most things..)
Btw, I'd be more than happy to let my hair dry naturally, but when heading for home on the bike in -30C after the late evening workouts that is not really an option. :-) I.e. two big towels and lots of intense drying is a must.
Hey Finn - u have beautiful hair !!! - try washing only once or twice weekly, & only shampoo scalp: ( letting shampoo run thru. the lengths ), try protective 'up' styles: ( to prevent knotts: ( the bane of my existence ) - so ur hair is less 'hassle' for you, try a hair turban: ( to dry with less damage than towels & hair-dryer ) - I use 'DRY' shampoo too: ( to absorb excess oils on scalp area ) - ALL of us must find solutions for the 'hassle' factor, but ur stunning hair is surely worth it !!! cheers CEM. :]
