Sorry for the egregious lighting...one of these days I'll get a daylight picture in a more interesting (outdoor) setting. Washed, detangled, combed out. Still gaining length slowly.
Hi Trolleypup,
Your are certainly one of the few on mlhh here that has achieved such a magnificent length.I know we all have our "so called" terminal lengths but to think your hair is still growing is amazing:)I know mine is,proven that I can see the new growth due to my henna colored hair.Still the length always appears the same year after year.I'm not complaining but I always would have liked to experience hair even remotely close to your length.Great pic and hair!Love the waves too:)Cheers

pssssst (whispers in your ear): have you tried to bun your hair consistently?
The most important lesson I treasure is protecting all the fragile ends of one's own hair. It includes a lifestyle (like trolleypup, i'm sure practices since I saw his vids and is a member of other long hair sites) wearing a bun consistently no matter what work place you're in. If you are a construction worker who wears a helmet you can make a low cinna-bun and then use a spin pin so that it looks like your bun is holding on its own cause the spin pin hides inside your bun, and at the same time having your bun safely sit low enough that it won't bother your helmet. There are a billion types of buns you can practice with sticks, pins, or without anything (like making a knot bun depending on your length).
There are other practices that must be incorprated from the TLC of detangling all the way to making sure that you use some kind of oil (like virgin coconut oil) consistently on your ends and making sure to reapply whenever the ends feels or looks dry. It is important I feel to keep the ends moisturized and tucked and protected in a bun. I know there are many different ways to practice protective hair styles with oiling, but i'm sure you knew that already. Point is, it's all about trying and finding a protective wear you can realistically apply to your own lifestyle. When I say a lifestyle of protectitive wear , i mean it literally, finding what will work for you so that you can always wear some kind of protective style and giving up wearing your hair loose until you reach a desired length or for special occasions, events where you want to show off your hair. I thought i'd share tips that is really helping me in this journey thus far.
your fellow bro!
Hi bro:)
Thanks for your input and great suggestions:)Actually I do protect my hair when at work and outdoors in general. At work I keep my hair tucked under a baseball cap which not only protects it from wind damage but also from overexposure to the sun.Being I work outdoors a lot having all my hair covered has kept it nice all the years I've had long hair which has been a long time!LOL.Only recently I've enjoyed the aspect of wearing a simple bun, that I learned to do from a Trolleypup video, and frankly I like it better than a ball cap.I still do the cap at work for the best protection but do a bun the rest of the time.So with that said I still wish my hair would achieve a longer length but I just attribute it to approaching my terminal length. Thanks again for your response as I enjoyed reading it my friend:)Cheers

Your hair is superb, Robert. It has sure gained a lot of length. Mine has maxed out at knee length, yours will likely reach mid calf length. Great update.
