I want to dye my hair black (which was its original color). Two dyes have been recommended - Restoria Discreet and Godrej Expert. Any thoughts on these?
If black was your original hair color & you want to go back to that, then why dye it at all? Why not just let your natural color come back on its own?
Because I have greyed, dude!
It will only come back on its own by growing out. I don't think he wants to wait that long and cut off the rest. And if it's graying, then it never will grow out.
I dyed my hair black one time. My hair is not naturally black, so I had to do maintenance dyes every couple of weeks. I liked it at first, but it was way too much work. In the end, I ended up buzzing it all off and starting over. If your hair is graying, that gray is going to grow out at the roots and require maintenance dying to maintain the color. Just something to think about.
I have no opinion on brands.
At the ripe old age of 58 I have lots of grey hair. And I fully
intend to keep all that grey hair long and it's natural grey color.
I've never changed my hair color and never will..
And it will absolutely remain long.
So my hair will be long and grey until the day I die.
I always say I earned every single one of those grey hairs.
What colour is your hair now? If you've bleached it very light, it will probably not look good to dye it black again and you'll just have to wait for it to grow out. At least, that is what my stylist warned me before I went from dark brown to blond.
Thanks for the reply. I haven't done any bleaching - my hair is naturally greying and the grey is increasing, which is why I want to dye it.
Now I on the other hand have lots of grey hair, I fully intend
to keep every single strand of hair that natural grey. I look at
it that I earned every single strand of grey hair.
I envision that when i'm older my hair will be waist length,
and completely grey. Right now i'm 58, the hair is half way down
my back.
I recommend letting a professional do it--at least at first. She how they do it and what tips you learn. Doing it yourself, unexperienced, the first time might not look as good as you hope. Bill
